I had just started 11th grade at a new school. My old school had different courses in different grades so I was forced into a freshman class. One of the freshman girls I met had her tongue pierced and I had wanted it done since I was 10 so I asked her about it. It turns out that her father didn't know that she had gotten it done. She told me that I should get it done even though my parents said absolutely no when I had asked them. She told me where to go and how to go about getting it done since I was under age.

I decided to go on a day when I knew that my parents weren't going to be home so I wouldn't have to see them or talk to them. They were going out and had no idea what time they would be back. I wasn't able to go with them beacuse I had my friends Sweet 16 that night. I told them that I was going shopping for an outfit for that night and that I was going to walk. The store that I said I was going to was a good 10 - 15 minute walk from my house so i figured they would be leaving and they would think I was shopping. My father said that he would be able to drive me to the store since it was a pretty far walk and since they weren't leaving for another few minutes. I really didn't want him to drive beacuse the store that I was supposidly going to was a 10 - 15 minute walk from my house and so was the Tattoo and Piercing place..except in opposite directions!!! I told him I could walk but he insisted so I didn't want him suspicious of anything so I agreed for him to drive me. O nce he dropped me off iI went in the store until I knew that he had driven away and started off to Asylum. Instead of taking 10 minutes to get there it took 30 minutes! When I finally got there I didn't think they were going to do it because I was under age and I didn't have a parent with me. I offered a guy $20 to act like my dad so I could get it done but he said no. I walked home defeated.

Later on that evening I walked to my friends house for her party. I had on make-up and my hair was done which made me look older so I thought to myself, "hey it's worth a shot to go and see if they would do it without asking for ID." I was so glad that the place was only a block from her house. So I went to the place and told the guy that I wanted to get my tongue pierced. I couldn't even believe it, e didn't even ask for ID! He gave me some papers to sign. As I was signing them my hands were shaking. I finished signing and he told me to go over to the chair in the corner and give the piercer the paper. So I walked over to the chair and gave him the paper.

I was so nervous! My piercer, a cute guy with an Australian accent, told me to rinse with some Listerine that he gave me, so I did, then sat in the chair. He could tell I was nervous so he was joking around with me to ease my nerves. There was a guy across from me getting a tattoo so as the cute Australian was doing the preparations, he stuck is tongue out and poined it to it as if to say "Are you getting your tongue pierced?" and I nodded my head. He laughed and gave me a thumbs up. When my piercer finished putting his gloves on he told me he was going to clamp my tongue. He handed me a paper towel and told me to hold it under me chin in case I drooled. He told me to stick out my tongue and he made the dot where he was going to pierce, and clamped my tongue. The clamp didn't hurt as much as everyone said it would. He held the huge needle above my tongue and told me to take a deep breath...then exhale. My eyes were closed the whole time. He then told me to take another d eep breath and as he told me to exhale he stuck the needle right through. And to tell you the truth, it didn't hurt a bit. After he put the barbell in he said that it was $40 so I gave it to him. He then gave so some aftercare tips like after I eat or drink or smoke to rinse with antibacterial mouthwash. While he was talking all i kept thinking was " I can't believe just got my tongue pierced!!"

About a week later my mom found it and made me take it out...or so she thinks. I am still able to put it in (which I do whenever I am not around her or my father.)

I love my tongue ring to death and have kept it a secret for a year! 10 more months to go an I'll be 18 and I'll just tell them that I got it done again because then I'll be legal and they can't tell me that I can't have it!!
