This is the story of my 13th, and latest piercing. And probably the most painful piercing I've had so far!!!!

I've always fancied having 2 piercings in my tongue, I don't know why, I love being decorated in the mouth I guess! I'd pondered over this piercing for a bit, but never actually gone through with it, because I'd either been at school, or college, or work, or doing something that involved me talking a fair bit!

Anyway I was in town with some of my friends, and I'd just got some money off my dad, we walked around for a bit and I wondered what I should spend it on when suddenly we stumbled across the piercing studios in Affleck's. After looking at myself in the mirror I decided it was time to get the long awaited second tongue piercing done. I already have it done once, in the centre, I have a link to that experience on my iam page. Two of my other friends, Kat and Claire, both decided to get their labret done.

So in we went to the piercing studio, I was already nervous at this time, because the first tongue piercing had been pretty damn painful for me! Kat and Claire went in first to get their labrets done, and then I waited for a bit while the piercer, who is a guy I know and get along with quite well, picked out a suitable barbell and sterilised all the equipment.

Then it was my time! I was reeeeeally nervous by now, I don't know why, because I've been pierced a fair few times, and have tattoos! I sat down on the bench in the room and told Leon where I wanted the piercing. Ideally, I wanted it in front of the piercing I already had, because I wanted to put a ring in it. Leon told me that he didn't want to pierce in the place I originally wanted, because it could damage my teeth, and my speech! So eventually we decided to pierce behind my tongue bar. They would still both be clearly visible anyway, and that's what I wanted.

Next, Leon told me to take my tongue bar out, and he clamped my tongue and checked for veins and nerves and stuff, and marked the place where he was going to pierce it. I checked this in the mirror, and it seemed fine, I trusted him anyway! So I sat back up on the bench and my tongue got sprayed with that really nasty tasting anaesthetic, he must have sprayed it a good 6 times, and it made me cough for so long it wore off so he had to spray my tongue again!!

Next, he clamped my tongue and gave it a final check over, asked me if I was ok, I think I managed to say I was alright somehow! Then he picked up the needle and lined it up underneath my tongue, told me to take a deep breath and hold it, and then let it out. I breathed out slowly and I felt him push the needle through my tongue. It was amazingly painful for about a second and then it stopped, I think it was probably me being a wimp and imagining it!!!! Then Leon cut the sheath down, and pulled the bar through my tongue. It took a while to screw the ball on because I kept accidently shutting my mouth! I think I bit his fingers at one point but he just laughed!

Then I put my bar back into the other piercing, and Leon got me to rinse with mouthwash. By this time not only my tongue, but my entire mouth had gone completely numb, and I couldn't talk at all, just make random noises! Leon went though the aftercare with me, which was basically mouthwashing twice a day and keeping my mouth clean, and I paid up and left.

Straight afterwards, we decided to go for a few drinks. Which I have to say isn't a good idea after you've just been pierced! It thins your blood so you're more likely to bleed, and be lightheaded. But we went anyway, and I had a few cocktails, and then the anaesthetic began to wear off, and my god, I WAS IN SO MUCH PAIN!!! Kat had to take me home and feed me painkillers. The last time I got my tongue pierced I lived off Ibuprofen, paracetomal, and milkshakes for a week. It made me lose weight I have to say!!!

The next few weeks were just absolute pain, I think it was because of the placement of the piercing, because it's right in front of the join where your tongue is attached to your mouth, if you know what I mean, so moving it hurt! I couldn't really eat, I tried having soup with chunks of bread soaked in it which I managed for a bit. I followed the aftercare and downed painkillers but it was a few weeks before the pain wore completely off.

I've had the piercing for 6 months now, and I love it to bits, even if it was a bastard to heal!! I guess if you want a piercing that bad you'll do anything to endure it! It makes a great talking point with new people, they're amazed at the fact I have 2 bars in my tongue, and guys love it! I've never had any complaints anyway!

So to sum it up, it was a painful experience, but very much worth it! I stick my tongue out at every oppertunity!

If anyone wants to contact me about this experience feel free to e-mail me, or visit my iam page, I have plenty more experiences there too.
