When Two years ago
I got this piercing a few years ago but I remember it like my first kiss. I got called into the school office and was told that my mom would be picking me up today I usually rode the bus thought nothing really of it at the time.

Three o' clock came and the bell rang. After I was done getting my things I went outside and there was my mum waiting for me. So we got in to the truck and started on our way. I realized she was going the wrong way to our house so I just sat there wondering. After awhile I asked where we were going and she said "You'll see." So I sat there just wondering.

When we arrived at the piercing shop I still didn't know what was going on because the sign said something about nails. I went inside and realized I was going to get pierced because of the lady at the counter was all pierced herself and had numerous tattoos also I could see the piercing room.

My mom and I signed the consent forms (me only being 12 at the time (my parents agreed that if I got all A's that I could get my tongue pierced). I was told to stick out my tongue (still not being in the piercing room) and the lady said she would be piercing me at a 14 gauge (what ever the hell that meant glad I know now) and told me to look at barbells in the glass case that said that they were 14 gauge barbells. I chose just a normal long barbell for while it healed then a pink barbell for after my new piercing healed. She got them out of the glass case and told us to go sit down in the piercing room.

Once inside the room I sat down where the lady told me to. This is when I was starting to get nervous. She left the room to go get the things she would need to pierce me. My mom and I sat there looking at a piercing magazine. At that point in time the piercing I saw in that magazine were pretty weird. Now days there are normal everyday piercing.

So we were sitting there and the lady came back and told me to wash my mouth out with the contents in a cup she handed me (mouth wash) I almost gagged it tasted so badly but I had to rinse my mouth for a full 30 seconds. Next she told me to stick my tongue out so I did and she put a blue dot on my tongue and told me to lift my tongue up so she could see the bottom and added a dot under my tongue as well.

She opened a packet that had the needle when I saw the needle I felt myself becoming pale because I am deathly afraid of needles. I grabbed my moms hand and held onto it. I was like I don't want to do it for a minute. My mom said "Well move, then I can get mine done" then I stuck my tongue out. She put the clamp on my tongue. But I kept pulling my tongue back in my mouth. Then this lady pulled on the clamps and pulled my tongue out of my mouth.

Then both of them told me to close my eyes. Which I did having my tongue pulled out of my mouth the painful clamps attached to my tongue. She stuck the needle in.... wow I thought it was going to hurt only felt like a small pinch. At this point I felt like such a pussy for freaking out so much. She told me to keep my eyes closed but I opened my eyes and looked down because at this point wasn't nervous or even a bit scared anymore. OMG there was a needle through my tongue and I watched her put the barbell on the top of the needle and slide the needle out and the barbell in. I was so proud of my newly pierced tongue.

Thinking back now I think the most painful part of my experience was the clamps.

After my tongue healed which it did very nicely and I had changed my barbell to the pink barbell I had bought previously. I got bored with my tongue pierced and wanted to take it out then my friend suggested I up gauge it. I had no clue what that meant but he have me a new barbell that was like twice the size of the barbell I had before... and today I am proud to say I have had my tongue pierced for almost four and a half years at a 8 gauge and soon up gauging it... but that is another story.
