Allrighty, heres the story of my tongue piercing.

By this time my obsession for piercings had grown. I allready had my left ear, 2 eyebrow piercings (both in the left brow) a labret, 2 side lip piercings (one on each side) and both of my nipples, and I thought it was time for a new piercing. I thought about a prince albert, but I didnt think I wanted to endure such pain on my prized you-know-what, and my mom would NEVER approve of it. She hated my lip piercings and my nipples. The only ones she thought were cool were the eyebrows and my ear.
My mother is usually very passive about piercings. She lets me get them regaurdless weather or not i'll look like a "freak" in her eyes. I had allready dyed my hair every color of the rainbow, wore face makeup, and spiked choakers. She didnt really care. Just as long as the money didnt come from her wallet. So, I talked to her about getting a tongue ring. Her response was "dont you have enough holes already?" And I told her you can never have enough... So, the answer was NO. I was mad. She let me get just about everything else, but not a tongue piercing? Its not like she would have to look at it... So, about a month later I came home from school, and my mom was lying on the couch watching tv. I had read up on tongue-rings, the healing process, aftercare and such, so I felt I was ready for a tongue ring. So, I went and asked my mom ONE more time. My mom explained to me that she didnt want me to look like a freak more than I already did. Okay, like one tongue piercing is going to make me look even freaky? I thought that was the dumbest thing I have ever heard. SO I lauged at her and explained my views on it. Finally, she gave into me bugging her and told me she wanted me to get it pierced Spring Break. That was nearly a month away! But she told me she wanted me to have time to learn how to talk again and eat properly. She also told me that was the only time she would let me do it. Well, since I really wanted the piercing, I decided to wait that extra month.
So, to raise the 40$ for my tongue piercing, I offered to mow my grandma's lawn. She gave me 20$ for doing so, then I did random chores around the house and finally earned 40$ for my piercing. My piercing was still 1 week away, and I was so tempted to spend my money. But luckilly, I didnt, because I would certainly never be able to make 40$ in a week. Plus, I am lazy and never want to do anything, so I probably wouldnt find the motivation to mow lawns or wash dishes.
Okay, Thursday comes, and I am to get my piercing on Saturday. My mom called into the piercing studio to set up an appointment. My mom asked if they would do the tongue piercing, and the lady on the phone said that the piercer would have to look at my tongue in order to see if it could be pierced. The lady said that some people have a really long veign-web underneath their tongue and sometimes if it's too long, the tongue can't be pierced or whatever, so my mom made an appointment anyway, and when I got home from school and heard the news I freaked. My tongue web thing was unusually long. I started to freak out, so I got online and talked to a pro piercer, and I sent her pictures of my tongue and she told me it could be pierced. I was SO relieved.
Okay, Saturday morning rolls around. I wake up at 8 am, shower, eat, and head off to the 9:15 appointment at Storybook. We get there, my mom signs a waver, and the piercer Ray (Really nice guy) walks me to the back and looks at my tongue. He tells me how to take care of it and then her gets on some rubber gloves and makes me rinse with this mouthwash stuff. My mom went to go sit out in the car because she cant stand watching me get pierced. He tells me that he's going to put in a longer barbell because of swelling. So, I stuck out my tongue and he clamped it. The clamp was VERY uncomfortable and made me want to pull my tongue back into my mouth. Then came the needle... He told me to count to three, and at the count of three he was to pierce me. But since I know the drill, i expected him to pierce me at 2... So, I do the breathing excercise, and he pierces me at three. Not two this time. I felt a poke, then a pinch, then next thing I know he was screwing on the barbell. Yay. I had finally gotten my tongue pierced. I looked in the mirror and loved it! So we pay the 40 dollars and I am on my was home. My mom stops at mcdonalds and teased me about having to eat pudding and applesauce for 3 days. So she eats a big mac RIGHT in front of me.
The next morning I wake up and my tongue is a little bit swollen, but nothing too bad. I look in the mirror and there is this little skin growth growing around the bottom tongue hole. I freaked out, but I didnt want to say anything to my mom about it. Also, there was this crusted blood spot around the top hole. My guess is that it got infected somehow... After one day of having it pierced? I rinsed with bactine wash every time I ate something... How would it get infected? Why? I was too scared to go to my piercer about it, so I let it heal on its own. Well, about 3 weeks later it finally healed up. No more skin growth, and finally, a perfect tongue piercing. Sure its a bit more towords the tip than normal tongue piercings, but I love it!
Pretty soon I am going to get my septom pierced. And hopefully I will get more ear piercings and a bridge piercing soon.
