Hi my name is Spike I'm 15 years old and live in Cyprus a country about the size of Hawaii. I'm originally form Australia where I got my first real piercing "my tongue".

First is first I would not advise anyone to pierce there own tongue unless it is absolutely necessary. In other words only pierce your own tongue if there is no one better than you to pierce it for you.

The first time I had it done was by a pro behind my parents back all went smooth the first time until a month and a half passed. I went to my grandmother's house and removed it for the so called "respect issue" and with in the 2 hours the hole was sealed shut.

A two months past and I began to miss my tongue piercing so I called the piercing urge one of the best body pierces in Australia and asked them if I could get it re- pierced the girl I spoke to said come in an we will take a look so I went and she toke a look and said that there wasn't much scar tissue, she said she could re pierce it but not directly on top of the previous piercing so I said ok. With in ten minutes I had the felling of metal in my mouth again.

Three months later I came to Cyprus and my mom discovered the tongue piercing she nagged and nagged me to take it out I just had enough of the sound of 'take it out' that I just toke it out.

It has know been 1 month and I just cant bear to be metal -less so yesterday I called every body pierce in Cyprus and asked them what there procedure for piercing a tongue is 3 of them said we use a 18g needle and a 18g barbell and the other two said that use a ear piercing pistol. At this stage I just said fuck it.

This morning I came across my 14g barbells and a sealed 14g needle. I started to think why don't I pierce it my self I know its not the smart thing to do but I had no other chance, so I run to the bath room and poked my tongue out and had a good look at it there was a very small mark from the previous piercing. So I said to my self the mark is there all I got to do is stick the needle in and then stick the barbell through.

So I toke my barbell and a pair of long nosed clamps to the pharmacy and asked him if he could sterilize them he said he could I asked how long it would take he said 30-45 minutes so I paid him went home and got a bottle of spirits cleaned the bathroom table. Then I when back to the pharmacy picked up my things in one of those sealed sterilized bags the hospitals use. When I got home I cleaned the bathroom table again with spirits. I rinsed my mouth with oral B, washed my hands with anti-bacterial liquid soap put on some gloves then I placed some sterilized sheets of paper that I brought from the chemist on the table, toke the gloves of and put a new pair on.

This is the fun part.

I poked out my tongue grabbed it with the long nose clamps, picked up the needle with my other hand and placed it about 1mm behind the old mark on the bottom side of my tongue I began to push the needle through the bottom layer of flesh, this was pain less but getting through the top of my tongue was slightly painful I got through. At this stage there was no pain I removed the clamp and left the needle in I grabbed the barbell and pushed the needle out using the barbell the needle feel to the floor and the barbell was through my tongue. All that was left now was to put the ball on. I put my tongue back in my head and removed all the spit from my face, toke of the gloves and put on new ones poked my tongue back out and screwed the ball on. I rinsed my mouth with oral B again and all is done.

It has been 4 hours my tongue has not swelled up and there is no pain what so ever I just had a small pizza to my self with no probs

I strongly advise against any one piercing there own tongue unless it is completely necessary. And when I say completely necessary I mean if the is no one better than you to do the job for you

If there is a pro to do it for you don't even think about it twice just do it
