Well to start out I will tell you a little bit about myself I am 16 years old and I have always been interested in body modification. I have wanted my tongue pierced ever since I was about 12 but I could never get my mom to say I could have it done. Finally after 4 ear piercing and a standard and inverse navel she finally said yes.

After talking to a lot of friends with all types of piercing I found someone to pierce me! It was a guy Named Eric that did piercing at his house. I had seen a lot of the tongues he had pierced and they looked good so I called him and made an appointment for noon on 9/29/02.
Now I had to find a ride there since I do not have a car and the place was about 30 miles away. I decided I would ask my boyfriend who already had his lip done twice both nipples a 2g tongue ring and he used to have an eyebrow and a labret. I knew he wanted his septum done so I called him and he said sure he would take me. He decided he would stay the night on Saturday and then we could get up at tem and eat a big meal because I would not be able to eat much after my piercing.
Sunday morning came and my mom came to my door and told us the breakfast was ready it was 10:00 and I got up picked out a ham and cheese omelet and took it to my boyfriend and then went back and grabbed on for my self. We ate then I go dressed called a couple friends did my normal grooming routine and then woke him up. He woke up had a smoke and then we were off.
On the way to the guys house we got lost and had to stop at a gas station and have a little old lady draw me a map of where we were and where his road was. We drove around for like 20 min and finally figured out where his house was. When we pulled up he greeted us at his door he was a friendly mildly pierced man in his mid 20's we told him we were his 12:00 appointment and then we came in and he showed us all of the stuff in sterile packets and we told him we had brought our own autoclaved jewelry that we would like him to use he agreed. I then gave him the note from my mom saying I could have it done and then signed the waiver form.
I was first to be pierced, first he made me was my mouth out with Listerine and then checked my tongue for veins my tongue was ok to be pierced. Next, he sit me down and then told me to keep my tongue in my mouth and then he would slide the forceps in and I would stick my tongue in them. I did and it felt a weird but it was nothing lie pain. I was really scared by this time he just said one two and three my tongue had a needle in it and I was not in any pain I could feel the needle go through but it didn't hurt and I am a baby with pain. He quickly got my barbell and slid it into my tongue and put on the ball that is the part that hurt he had to put the top ball on and it hurt way more than the piercing.
Well I was pierced and so happy. He then pierced my boyfriends septum and we left. I was talking funny and he was laughing at me. We stopped at a gas station and I went in and grabbed a water and asked the man at the counter if they had chap stick but it sounded really weird since I had my tongue pierced and he didn't understand and after a few time of saying it he understood. I think he thought I was def.
I have had my tongue pierced for about a day now and I absolutely love it. It is sore right now and I am starving cause it hurts to eat anything and no one can understand meL. I have been rinsing with diluted Listerine and sea salt after everything I eat and everything I drink that is not water. I think it is very important to keep up with the aftercare of a piercing even though it is sometimes like a chore. For all of you that want a tongue piercing and are afraid of the pain it will be ok I swear it doesn't hurt my navel hurt way more that my tongue. Go and get that piercing you will love it.
