I turned 18 and the first thing I did was get a tattoo. I used to work beneath Bring Your Skin so I started to get to know the people there. All of them seemed awesome and I felt very comfortable there. Mike did my tattoo over 2 days, it turned out great and I love it.

From spending those 2 days there I started to know every one there, including the pierces, really well. (Mike, Randy, Cindy, and Marty) We all talked the whole 5 hours I was there for my tattoo. Everyone is very nice and I felt very comfortable there, so I knew if I was going to get anything more done I was going back to Bring Your Skin.

I left for college but knew I had to go back for a few touch ups on color. I had my mother make me an appointment for my touch up work a weekend I was going to be home, 1:30pm yesterday.

I was with some friends Friday, the night before, and mentioned I wanted to get my tongue pierced. Everyone thought it would be awesome, I had put a lot of though into it before I mentioned it to anyone and I really wanted it done. So I decided that since I was going to be there anyways I would get it done then.

I walked into the studio and Cindy came out too see what she could do, I quickly responded "I have an appointment with Mike for some touch-up at 1:30 and I would like to get my tongue pierced."

She decided it would be best to wait till after Mike fixed my tattoo incase it swelled up really bad. So I waited for Mikes last appointment to get done, I filled out my piercing paper and finished just as Mike came out and said he had to clean up from his last one then we could finish my tattoo.

I sat there like normal while Mike worked away, it only took about 20 minutes this time compared to 2 and 3 hours for the last 2 sessions. I was so eager to get my tongue pierced it didn't matter. My tattoo experience was boring nothing hurt and it healed very perfectly, so I was hoping my tongue would be the same.

Mike finished and Cindy came out. She asked if I was ready, I obviously said yes. Mike was picking on me saying I hadn't gotten enough pain for one day and that I liked that place too much, I was there all the time and gave them a lot of my money.

So we went in the back room I sat down and watched her get everything out, the barbell, the needle, the Listerine, I was getting very excited. I went to rinse my mouth out with the Listerine then sat back down. As she was getting all ready the other tattooist Randy came in and started picking on me just like Mike was earlier. It calmed my nerves a little bit. He left and Cindy asked if I was nervous. I was but I think I would have been much more nervous had I not had a tattoo and didn't know everyone there. Actually I doubt I would have gotten it done if I didn't know them as well as I do.

So she marked my tongue, and put the clamps on it. It felt weird but she was really nice and explained everything she was doing so I was actually very comfortable. Finally she put the needle through, then the barbell. I was surprised, it didn't hurt at all. It was weird holding my tongue out so long and I drooled a lot, but no pain.

Talking was a little funny but it didn't swell up that bad, and still didn't hurt. I left and went to the store to get Listerine and something to drink. When I got home my parents freaked out but knew they couldn't do much seeing how I am 18 now. They quickly got used to it. My mother just doesn't want me to get too into piercing and tattoos and be too freaky, she thinks it will ruin job chances in the future. I doubt I'm going to do too much more, but I always wanted my tongue done, maybe a few more tattoos though.

It only took me about an hour to figure out how to talk right and the rest of yesterday to learn how to eat. The people in my dorm room don't even realize anything different but I love it so much other then the ones I went to dinner with because eating is still a little bit weird.

The people at Bring Your Skin are great and very helpful, before and after, with everything. I was a little upset Jimi Hendrix wasn't playing this time, he was every other time id been there. But it was still great and it ties for the greatest experience of my life, along with my tattoo. I will most defiantly be going back there for any future work!!
