Since I was 15 I've always wanted a tongue piercing, I can't exactly say why but I've just always wanted one. So now fast forward a few years and here I am sitting at college with some extra cash in my pocket and my 18 years of age right next to that just begging to be unleashed. I started planning to get this done last week, I went on the internet and did a ton of research which I recommend you doing if your looking into any kind of BM. I finally came upon this wonderful site and read a lot of the stories on getting pierced and even found a couple people who have done it where I live. I talked to them to see who they recommended and both of them recommended Millennium in Fort Collins. After much thought on Sunday night I decided to do it Wednesday when I have the day off.

Monday afternoon rolled along and I left work early to go check out the place, make sure it was up to par and what not. I walk in the door and it looks pretty clean, people are smoking in the reception area which I thought was kind of odd but there was none allowed back in the rooms so no big deal. I ask the guy a couple questions, stuff about the autoclave and whatnot and tell him what I was thinking about and he said come sign some papers and we'll take you on back. I let out a sigh and said "No I can't go in yet I have go to work and stuff but I'll be back on Wednesday".

I go into work and start to do the usual crappy job that I do, I'm a telemarketer hence the planning around work thing. I don't make enough sales so I get sent home early, I looked at my watch and it was only 8:00PM and Millennium was still open and just got my paycheck and on top of that the drive over to millennium was only a minute long. I jet over there ask if the guy will take checks and if I can write them over, both answers were a yes and he said come on back. I refused one more decided I should call my roommate who wanted to watch and take pictures. I have a couple smokes to calm the nerves while I waited.

When I started filling out the paperwork is when I started to get nervous, my hand writing was a little bit shaky. Chuck(the artist) gave me the aftercare speech and then I waited and smoked while Chuck prepared the room. Finally it was my turn to go back. I sat in a oversized dentist chair and did the whole dry off the tongue and make the dots, I told him which one I liked and the washed my mouth out with the mouthwash. I sat back down and out came the dreaded clamps, he clipped those little suckers on and told me to breath in deeply and then out, on the out in went the needle. I've heard a lot of stories about the pain so I expected almost nothing, If you would have seen me you would have seen my eyes bug out, the pain wasn't bad but it was more then I was expecting, maybe I have a thick tongue or something. The pain was no big deal though, only lasted a second. "Your done, go wash out your mouth and don't worry about the blood" says chuck, so I go and rinse my mout h out a couple times and spit out reddish blue water each time then finally get to take a look at my tongue. I loved it and told him so and thanked him a couple times. I looked over the bench they had in there and my friend was pale and lying down, I had a good laugh at him, as much as I could've with a fresh hole in my tongue, I got a tough guy sticker and he got a lolli pop. I went out the front and played for the stuff and then tipped chuck ten dollars since he was very cool and did a great job. After I left I headed straight to 7-11 and got a slurpee and then over to king soopers for the medicine and stuff like that downed a couple painkillers and let the slurpee hang in my mouth as long as possible. That night the swelling pain weren't bad at all.

Now it's the next morning and the pain and swelling are bad but not unbearable, I can still talk but its with a little lisp but I can hide it if I try and I'm still loving the piercing. If any of you crazy kids in Fort Collins want to get your tongue pierced defiantly go the Millennium Gallery of Living Art and get Chuck if you can, if not all the other people there are really cool. If you want a tongue piercing do your research and then GET IT, you'll love it, it's well worth everything you have to go through..
