Ever since I was about 12 I had wanted a piercing other than just my ears. To me ears just seem boring after awhile, and I had been intrigued with a tongue piercing for awhile.

It just seemed the way to go, because my parents are pretty laid back but the one thing they would not tolerate was piercings. They told me I would look like a cheap whore.

After much convincing which involved me showing them the Bmezine site, they allowed it, for the one simple reason that it would barely be visible. Heh. That's what they thought, my mouths always open.

My friend Brett also had wanted his tongue done for along time, but as he was 21 he didn't have to go through the whole parental consent thing. We looked around at a few piercing places, but finally decided on Orgazmic Jewelry which is about a 45 minute, but stupid us decided to rely on good old public transport. So it took 2 and half hours.

It's a small new age shop as well as a piercing studio, and when we arrived the first thing I noticed was how much cleaner it was compared to all the other piercing places I had been. This place is hospital sterile. It actually looked like a small hospital room.

When we walked in we were greeted by a young girl, she would have been about 22, and we told her what we would like done. She said the tongue was a good choice as it is supposedly one of the least painful piercings you could get. She called out the guy who would be sticking a metal rod through my tongue out. His name was Joff, and he was a very attractive guy in his late twenties. He joked around with us and was really friendly, which I was grateful for because by this time I was ready to vomit and/or pass out.

The young woman sorted out the forms, and as I was only 17 Joff insisted he called my parents, which worked out ok, mum agreed, dad hid in the other room. I decided to get mine pierced first, If I didn't get it done first I wouldn't have got it done at all.

Joff called me into the room and told me to sit down. This is where he explained the whole entire procedure in much detail. I panicked when he told me he doesn't use anesthetic on tongues, since I read some people saying they got the option of having numbing cream.

He made me rinse my mouth out a few times with a mix of diluted Listerine. God I hate Listerine. *shudder*. He got out a paper towel and told me to poke out my tongue. He dried it thoroughly, and then checked the position of my vein. He said he would have to do it on a bit of an angle because my vein was prominent. I said sure whatever you're the piercing guy and laughed nervously.

He gave me another quick run through and put the clamps on my tongue. This felt pretty weird, but I would say uncomfortable more than painful. They were really cold clamps too which pissed me off. He counted to 3 and I felt a little sting as the needle went in, and another little sting as the needle exited the wound.

I was sitting there staring at the needle poking out of my tongue as he opened the bar he was putting in it. I felt another twinge of pain as he stuck the jewelry through and screwed on the bar.

The minute he was finished I jumped up and looked in the mirror and squealed in happiness, almost unaware of the saliva and blood mix dripping down my chin. My friends who watched the entire procedure were pretty grossed out by this stage.

Straight afterwards he made me go back to the sink and wash my mouth out again, and keep doing so until I stopped bleeding. I bled a lot, and he said this would have something to do with me being an iron deficient anemic. He ran through the cleaning instructions once more, and instructed me to come back in 10 days.

3 days later I was at my now ex-boyfriends house, and I *though* I was tightening the bar, but in fact I was loosening it, and it fell out. I panicked like a retard and had to get him to shove it back in, and he was rough and did it the wrong way which caused my tongue to swell up even more than it was. This was huge!

I didn't eat for 5 days after the piercing, that's because my tongue was so fat I nearly choked on my own saliva. I lived on cups of ice which really helped, until I could take it no longer and on the 5th day at 10 pm I chowed down on a whopper meal from Hungry Jacks, and let me tell you that was the best food ever!

3 days ago I went with my friend to get hers done, and she loves hers already, and not to mention the guy that pierced it.

My friend Brett who got it done with me, he was a pussy and couldn't handle not eating, so he took his out after just 48 hours....

But I recommend you get it done, as it was a quick simple piercing, and it has its benefits *wink wink*.

You will be grossed out at first, but wait until you get the change down, then everything will be perfect. After the change down I couldn't even feel it!

3 Days ago, I went back and got my labret pierced... but that's another story :D
