I think getting my tongue double pierced was one of the best ideas I've ever had. I originally hadn't planned it actually, even when i was on my way going to the piercing shop with my friends. I had my tongue pierced for almost a year back then and had it stretched to an 8ga. I had seen many interesting pictures on BME and they always manage to inspire me to go ahead and get another piercing.

At that time, I was planning to go get my tongue stretched to a 4ga. It's something that would provide me with an adrenaline rush and didnt have such a long healing period. I knew my parents probably wouldn't notice neither. So I convinced some of my friends to come along with me. My best friend was also planning to get a vertical labret pierced there too so she came along.

I remember discovering this shop by walking along Ontario st. going to a different piercing studio and the studio caught my eye so I had went in it. I ended up taking out my madonna to get an off-center labret piercing. I made good friends with the piercer there, Jay and got familiar with the staff and we discussed a lot about piercings, different shops, closed-minded people etc..

Anyways, when i got to the shop that day, I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do, I wanted to many things at once. So I let my friend Angela go first. Her vertical labret came out beautiful, which motivated me to get something pierced! My friends kept discouraging me to stretch my tongue, saying it would look gross if i had a big hole in my tongue, or some sort of babblement like that. So i ended up deciding to double pierce my tongue. It was kind of a spur-of-the-moment type of thing but I totally don't regret it.

I sat down and he got his tools ready. Some came out of the autoclave. I had chosen a regular stainless steel barbell with a little picture on the top ball. I was pretty nervous because I remembered it hurting a lot and bleeding a lot from the first time i had done it. I had chosen a horrible place the first time though, a little cheap shop in a flea market. The piercer didnt know anything about piercings, he had pierced my tongue from underneath! And I remembered the healing process being horribly long and my tongue being really swollen. So thoughts of regret were going through my head.

He clamped up my tongue in front of my tongue ring, since the one I already had happened to be a bit far back. He asked me how much more front I wanted it, and it turns out he pierced it a little bit less than 1 cm in front of it. He passed the needle through my tongue and I felt it rip through each and every layer of my tongue. As soon as the needle had completely went through i opened my eyes and all I could think of was Wow! That felt so good! I wanted to do it again! He passes the barbell in, following the needle and poked the needle into a cork and put the needle in one of those big yellow needle disposal boxes(I forgot what they're called). No blood, a bit of drool (not as much as the first time), and a second tongue piercing.

Just feeling another barbell in my mouth I could tell it would be so much fun playing with it when it would heal. I thanked the piecer, tipped him, and hurried to leave since the shop was closing.

One thing I regret is going to Mc Donald's after. It was pretty hard to eat and I had forgotten to eat before we went to the piercing shop. One thing I recommend is stuff your face before you get any oral piercing!! I also realized that it went so well this time because I was comfortable with the piercer and I trusted him well. I've always been recommending him to others and everyone that asks me about my piercings.

The healing period went very well and rather quick. Especially since the next day happened to be the Vans Warped tour and i had to live on popscicles the whole day. It brought down my swelling a lot.

And one other thing is don't use listerine or scope for oral piercings! They contain alcohol which makes the swelling even worse. I've used antibacterial Oral-B and it healed perfectly in no time, as well as for when I had my labret.

Since it's been healed its been the funnest thing to play with, although my dentist gets mad at me, and I don't think I'd be able to take them out. Just taking out one of them, I feel like Naked Sue. If you're thinking about getting it pierced again, I say go for it, you don't know what you're missing out on!
