I love piercings. I have my septum, lip and tongue done. I always get something and decide to take it out to get something else. Ive had my nostril done on both sides, my lip on both sides. But i decided to take those out to get my septum and the middle of my lip.
At A Glance Author anonymous Artist Sean Studio Artistic Ink Location College Park MD Anyways, about 2 weeks ago.. i wanted something else done... now im very good friends with my tattoo artist and piercer.. so they are really nice and i feel very comfortable with them. I wanted to get my nipple done..but im to scared. :X For about a month i was deciding between a second barbell in my tongue , or another tattoo.
Well, i chose to get my tongue done again. So i went to my piercer, as i sometimes do on a regular basis.. i go to hang out with them. :D
I told him what i wanted,and he went in the back to clean up, etc.
Then he called me back. I was kinda nervous considering i had my tongue done once.. but i forgot what it felt like. LOL.
So he preped me and let me choose where i wanted the piercing, and i wanted it in front of my other barbell. So he made a little dot on my tongue , put the clamps on and told me to take a deep breath. So i did, and pop.. in went the needle.. it didnt hurt.. i knew it wouldnt. Septums hurt bad though. :X
Anyways.. the barbell he chose was a 12 gauge. im not used to that cuz my other one is a 14. But it looks nice.
He gave me a care sheet, let me rinse and sent me on my way. That night it didnt hurt bad. When i woke up i had dried up blood on my tongue and it was so swollen i thought i was gonna cry. So i put ice on it and that helped a little.. but it felt like something was wrong. I never had that much pain with my other one.
A few days later i went back to visit them.. and i went to the bathroom and i tasted blood in my mouth.. my tongue was bleeding. .and it hurt..
so my piercer looked at it and thought we might of hit a blood vessel or something. :( Blah.. he told me to keep taking care of it and if it wasnt better in 5 days, hed do it over again.
But its all better now. :D And i love my tattoo artist and piercer. Everyone should go to Artist Ink in College Park. :D Theyre really nice, very safe and talk to you like your human. I recommend anyone in the maryland area who want a modification - go to them. You wont regret it!
Now im thinking i really should go get my nipple done.. it couldnt hurt that bad i suppose. My tongue looks quite nice right now. Three more weeks and i can change the barbell. I dont know what i want though. Hmm. My other tongue piercing is done to far back to get anything small and cute in it. So im gonna have to do some major looking. :D
Here are some things to think about before going to get pierced:
1: ) Know your piercer and the studio
2: ) Dont be scared to be friendly with your piercer.. They wont bite. The more friendly you are to them, the more they are to you..and you will feel more comfortable.
3: ) Know what you want done before you get it. Getting some random piercing that you didnt think about before and just rushed into.. could be a problem. You might not like it after. and that would be a waste of money.
4: ) Dont be afraid to ask questions. I know i wanna know a little bit of whats going on before they stick something in my body. :D
5: )Ask lots of questions afterward to.. But im sure they will tell you everything you need to know, beforehand.
6: ) Know that you will want something else after.. Piercing and Tattoos are really addictive. Its like Pringles..
Once You Pop - You cant Stop!
7: ) Take good care of it. You dont want any more pain than you have to. So be good to your new piercing, and it will be good to you!
8: ) CLEAN IT LIKE YOUR SUPPOSED TO. NASTY CRUD DOES BUILD UP AROUND THE JEWELRY AND THE HOLE. CLEAN IS GOOD!
9: ) DONT TOUCH IT WITHOUT CLEAN HANDS. GERMS ARE EVERY WHERE, BABY!
10: ) If its a tongue piercing, dont flick it around alot. i know its fun to play with.. but the after effect can be very painful when its a fresh piercing. ;x
