A story about a girl and her wish to be pierced...

I submitted my story to inform anyone who is considering getting his or her tongue pierced.

Hey, so I have wanted to get my tongue pierced for some time now, well since around 4 years ago. What really sucked was every time I asked (ok, begged) my mom to take me to get it done she went nuts out and wouldn't let me get it done. And when I finally turned 18, I told her I could sign for my self and get it done without her having to be there. She said she would rip it out, so I waited another week until I moved out to get it, just to keep peace with my mom.

To be safe, I went all over around where I live to find the best place to get my tongue done. There are really only 2 places to get it done at around me. First I went to a place called Eternal Tattoos. I walked in there, and it seemed like a decent place, really white, and clean. The problem was the guy working there. He was rude and ignored my for like 20 minutes. Until finally asking me what I wanted. I was pissed so I left and went home cause it was getting late. In the morning, I called over there and another person answered the phone and was rude too. And told me there didn't want to call anyone in to pierce me, which really pissed me off. So I looked in the phone book to find another place... When I found one (American Graffiti) I called and they where really cool and I decided to check the place out. When I got there the people working there all talked to me right away and the place was better than the other one so I picked A.G.

The piercer was really nice and told me every thing she would do step by step. She opened a new needle, barbell, gloves, and clamp right in front of me. She gave me some Listerine and had me wash out my moth with it and spit it in a can. She sprayed every thing with cleaning solution and put a rubber band around the clamp thing to make sure it would stay put. She put the clamp on and put numbing gel on my tongue and on the needle. She said she would wait until I was slobbering every where to show I was numb. She told me to relax and take some deep breaths and I would feel pressure and a sting. She put the needle through and it hurt like hell! I am not going to lie to you, I could have cried! Anyways, then she pulled the needle out with the barbell attached to it and skewed the ball on. I bled a little. It wasn't anything that I thought I would die from.

After I paid her and she gave me info on how to keep it clean and what to do for the pain I left. I went to the drug store and got these oral drops stuff that you squirt on the piercing and it fizzes out all germs and other gross stuff. I was around 5 bucks and I also stalked up on Listerine.

So if you want a tongue piercing or any other kind of piercing, for your own protection, check the places out before doing it. Yes it doses hurt, but it is so worth it. Remember clean it after you eat or smoke so you don't get infected! Enjoy!

Here are some things you might want to know...

Does it hurt?

Yes, but not as bad as you may think. The swelling hurts the most.

How much does it cost?

Mine costs 60 dollars. You have to pay for the barbell, needle, Listerine, gloves, clamp and the person who pierced you, so the price isn't that bad.

How much do you bleed?

At first you bleed like only a tablespoon of blood. None after that.

How long will it take to heal?

It heals in 6 weeks.

When can you take it out or change the barbell?

6 weeks or a little longer would be wise.

Is it hard to eat with?

YES! Hurts a little too. But you get used to it.

How much dose it swell?

Mine didn't swell very bed; it depends on the person.

Is it hard to talk with?

At first, it seems like all you can do is mumble.

What do you clean it with?

Listerine and oral cleansing drops.

When do you need to clean it?

After you eat or smoke.

Is there a chance your tongue could fall off?

I don't think so.

Is it worth the time, money and pain?

Yes, definitely!

Get it done if you want it, belive me you will love it!
