I went to go to get my tongue pierced with my mom and I was so scared. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was scared he'd hit that vein under your tongue or something might go wrong, but everything went great. Right as the needle went through my tongue I didn't feel anything because it went so fast. It was over before I knew it. When he had the tongue stud in I asked if he was done and he said "yea, that's it." It hurt after I had the tongue stud in, but not as bad as I thought. I was more uncomfortable that in pain. It took some time to get use to this steel rod in my tongue. That day my tongue didn't really hurt all that bad.

I can't say it didn't hurt after I got it pierced, but I don't regret it. I love my tongue piercing, I treat it like my arm or leg. I would never give it up.
I took it out about a month ago because I thought it was getting infected and I got scared, plus it got boring about almost a year of having it pierced. After about 2 days I missed it. I tried putting it back in but it had already closed up. I might get it re-pierced if I can. I miss playing with it and having it in. I regret taking it out.
I got it pierced when I was 14 years old, almost 15. I had been wanting my tongue pierced for over a year but my mom said no. Finally she said yes, but I had to pay for it. I called all the places within 100 miles of my house that did body piercings and they all said you had to be 18, no matter if you had a parent with you or not.
I think the law in Wisconsin is you have to be 18. So I finally called a few places in Minnesota, since I lived only about 30 minutes from the border of Minnesota and I came across B-COOL PIERCING and they said yes I can get my tongue pierced there, but I have to have a parent with me. So my whole family drove to St. Paul (about an hour drive). I also wanted to make sure they had been doing this for a long time and they had for a long time. The people who did the piercings were Andy and Jeanine, which are both married. I was so excited but also a little scared.
I didn't know what to expect. How would it feel? Would I die? I was scared of the health problems. My friend's brother got his tongue pierced and he bled, so I was afraid I would. I didn't bleed or anything. I was surprised how perfect Andy did it. He pierced it from the top down, in a slant.
I asked him how long it would take for it to heal and he said everybody is different but usually about 5-7 days until it stops hurting. It took me about 5 days. I can't say that those 5 days didn't hurt because they did hurt, it hurt like hell. But I got through it and when it stopped hurting things got better.
I felt different than everybody else, well at least from most people. I felt cool and special, it was my own little treasure and it wasn't something that you could see my looking at me. It was inside my mouth so no one could see it unless we talked or I showed them.
The first month or so I kept bragging about it to my friends and family, but after that I just kept it to myself and it wasn't such a big deal anymore. I just waited for someone to say something rather than me just bragging about it.
That same day I got my belly button pierced, about 5 minutes after I got my tongue pierced, but that is a different story. Right after I got my tongue pierced I almost fainted, I don't know why, I have never fainted before in my life and I'm not scared of needles or anything, but maybe it was just because it was so weird and new.
I think that B-Cool Piercing is a great place to get any piercing done, it is clean and they are extremely nice. They are sanitary and also right next to the body piercing part is a tattoo parlor. I recommend going there if you live near there and want to get a tattoo or body piercing. They do every piercing there is.
