It all started back in late October when I got my navel pierced (top, and I didn't get it pierced because it was "in") Anyways, I thought that really cute and was dying for another piercing but what?
At A Glance Author anonymous Artist Lisa Studio Artistic Impressions Location Niagara Falls, ON So, I was downtown one day at the library working on a project with a couple of friends and since the piercing studio was near by, I had to get something pierced. After about five minutes of thinking what to get pierced next, I decided to go get another navel (bottom). This was about mid-November.
Around the end of January, during exams, I was going to be downtown again because I was going to a friend's house to work on a website we had. During mid-November-January, I was on and off BME looking at pictures of piercings and I fell in love with the industrial and decided that was what I wanted pierced next. So, we ended up not even touching our website and just went straight to Artistic Impressions.
Next month, my friend and I were in class and we were talking about going to get something pierced, we both decided we liked the look of a labret or tongue. Initially, I wanted to go and get my industrial barbell and if they didn't have it, I was going to get my labret or tongue. So we took the school bus downtown and while we were walking there, my friend was thinking about how much his mom would freak out, so I said how about a cartilage, and that's what he ended up getting. They didn't have my industrial bar, so I was kind of upset because I had called in before and asked for it, and they said they had it. By now, I didn't want my labret or tongue because my mother would freak on me and bitch like crazy. So we hung around the studio a bit looking at pictures. I wanted something I could hide and I saw a tongue web and knew that's what I wanted. I sat down with my friend for about 45 minutes thinking about it, basically if I could keep it hidden. So that's what I decided to get.
Lisa, the piercer, and Sean assisting her, went to go set-up and called me in. I saw down on the dentist-like chair and she checked to see if my tongue web was pierceable and she clamped it to double check. Lisa was very throughout about the procedure etc. She explained that it was going to be a longer piercing (timewise, like it might take a little bit longer than say, a cartilage) and that it's going to take some time because my mouth is small too. I said that was fine.
She had me take a couple of deep breaths and asked if I was ready for her to start and I was. She started by clamping my tongue web and took the needle that she was holding by a another clamp or something, but she wasn't actually holding the needle with her hand. The needle went through cleanly, I didn't feel a thing. Then she went to put the CBR in, the left side of the hole closed up really fast or something because she could get it through. She took the CBR out and took the needle and pierced it again so the other side would open up. She put the CBR on the needle and tried to pull it through but it just wouldn't budge. By this time, my mouth/tongue was getting really sore and about 20 minutes had past. She asked if I still wanted to keep going and I said of course because I really wanted this piercing. hehe she said I was a tough girlie lol because she had given up after 15 minutes when she tried to get hers pierced.
She put the needle through again and the CBR actually went through this time, she was relieved, finally because it has been like 30 minutes by now. Then we ran into another problem, the bead, she couldn't get it on, and since my mouth is small, that made it even harder for her. That took about another 10 mins til she got it on. We all were like finally, woohoo!
Even after all that, I think it was totally worth it. The next day, my glands were swollen but I just took some tylenol or advil. Eating was hard a bit for the first 2 days because it hurt to move my tongue around. It's doing great though, I haven't had any problems at all. Well that's my tongue web story, I would recommend this piercing, it's practically painless and the healing process isn't bad at all. Lisa and Sean were great, Artistic Impressions is the studio to go to. They're awesome there.
