It all started out as a regular day. I woke up, my dad asked me whatI wanted to do that day. I knew exactly what I wanted to do! Ever since I found out you could pierce your tongue, I wanted mine pierced. I had begged my parents many times starting since when I was 12. Of course I was too young. It was a couple months after my 15th birthday, and I thought about asking one of my parents again. My parents are divorsed, so it makes it alot easier to get

things. If one says no there is always the other one. I finally got to have them BOTH say yes. Now it was just the task of actually getting to the studio.

So back to my day. I told my dad I wanted to go today and get my tongue pierced, and he was all"it takes money" and all that parent bullshit. I finally got him to take me after a long verbal fight with harsh words on my part. We didn't talk the 10 min. drive to the studio from my house. We didn't call to even see if the piercer was in, and of course he wasn't yet so we had to wait.

When the piercer finally came, there were people waiting in front of me so I had to wait longer. It took about an hour and a half till I actually got into the piercing room. The piercer was really nice talking to me the whole time and asking me questions about my life while my dad sat in the room looking pissed.

Eric (the piercer) gave me mouth wash to rinse with, and napkins to put on me for the drool. It was really embarasing to drool all over my self like that, but he was really cool and told me it was natural.(Plus he was really cute!) He put the clamps on my tongue after marking it with a blue dot and getting my ok on the position.(All the equipment, and the needles were new, and

came out of sealed bags) The mouth wash numbed my tongue so when the needle went in I barely felt it.(The clamps are the worst part) He put the 14g barbell though and it was really weird to put my tongue in my mouth. I was so happy though!

He told me all the proper care and such. I couldn't eat anything but food you could get though a straw, and cold things that you can suck on. Very little pain though. It's been 2 weeks and I can eat hard foods, and sometimes I even forget that I have a metal thing though my tongue! So to some it all up it was a good experience and I'm glad my parents made me wait. All my

friends love it or hate it, and I like both reactions equally. Just remember to clean your mouth out good, don't smoke for a couple weeks, and no kissing or

oral sex. Your family will never look at you the same, but remember to do this for you! Not to get back at your family or look cool in other people's eyes. It's better to be yourself, don't be a poser it will get you no where. Believe me I know!

So for questions.

Did it hurt: In my opinion no it didn't hurt at all, the week after was a little painful but nothing that some Advil couldn't cure.

What can you eat!: I ate alot of yogurt(which I hated but had to

eat), I ate pudding, third day I could eat bread and bagels, I ate CHEESE MASH POTATOES!(which are great!), and I ate ice cream, popsicles, and sucked on alot of ice cubes.

What do you think about the bad rap of tongue

rings?: I think it is stupid. Not everyone gets their tongue pierced to have better oral sex, nor are the people hoes or sluts for getting their tongue pierced. The piercing is what you make it, it can be for "bad" reasons or just for your own personal wants. I find it stupid to judge people on what they look

like. What ever happened to judging a person on their personality??!!

What mouthwash is supposed to be used?: Buy the yellowish, brown Listerine. This is the worst tasting shit you'll ever buy, but you have to use it to prevent infection.

What should I do if my tongue starts to bleed days after the

piercing, or _hurts REALLY BAD(I'm talking tears): Call the piercer, it might seem that you are being a pest but belive me it's that or no tongue. If you can't get hold of the piercer, find a friend that has had their tongue pierced and ask them if it looks ok. If not any of the above, or your really scared go straight to the Emergency room.

How should I prepare before going to the Piercing Studio?: GET SOMETHING TO EAT!! I'm so serious, eat, everything, anything!

You won't be able eat real food for a couple of days, or weeks even.

What about aftercare?: Buy a new toothbrush, to pervent added germs. Don't chew on fingernails, pen caps, etc. Don't put anything in your mouth that isn't sterile, or washed (your hands). Rinse your mouth after every meal or time you put

something in your mouth. Dilute the Listerine, 50-50. You breath could get really bad from all the mouth wash, but better safe then sorry(in the words of my dad).Try diluting the mouthwash a little more if it gets really bad. SO THAT'S IT!! If you have any more questions or comments my email address is lucky13yahoo.com Have fun with your piercing I hope you love yours as much as I do mine!

(p.s. don't play with it for the fisrt week at least, it still is healing and YOU DON"T WANT TO RIP IT!!)
