Okay i got my tongue pierced two years ago. Let me see if i can reflect on the past. I have a really crappy memory.

I went in with a few friends who were getting pierced the same day, so i got to watch, and get a feel for how things are done. Which was pretty cool, even though i hate needles, i like to watch my friends squirm though ha ha.

I had wanted it done for about a year before i actually got it done. Im just a huge procrastinator and never really made the appointment until some of my friends went in to get theirs done. I chose Addictive because i have heard tons of great things about the place, and saw some of their work, and liked what i saw. I had been there once before and i knew it was clean. All my friends go there aswell and they were definatly more experienced than myself for obvious reasons. So i made the appointment for the next week. I did check out other places though, a few were not so good, and another was decent, but i still wasnt that impressed. I show up with a few people i know and wait until its my turn to sit in the oh so cool dentist chair. When i sat down, i felt like i was in an interigating room, it was dark, except for one light, a sink and a ton of pastic gloves.

This was my first piercing so i didnt really know what to expect. Everyone was nice and my friends were supportive which helped out alot. Jacqui went over the cleaning procedures and gave me a sheet incase i forgot heh. Knowing me, id forget. She made me wash out my mouth with some alchohol, or listerine, or, well now you know why i needed the sheet. Then made a black mark on my tongue where the needle would go through. I hated the taste of that. My palms were sweating but it wasnt a huge deal. I wasnt scared or anything it was just a rush. People i knew were there aswell watching me, probably mocking me. I closed my eyes because i HATE needles. She stuck it through and i felt a pinch but nothing to whine about. Pretty easy so far, she grabbed my tongue with the tongs {which hurt a hell of a lot more than the piercing itself} and stuck the barbell through, ah success. I felt damn good at this point, knowing it was almost over. Put the barbell on and Viola! I drooled all over the place and bled alittle. The drool was damn annoying though. Lucky i had a bib.

Afterwards she told me i should come in, in a few weeks to downsize. I didnt, i bought a smaller barbell a month laterthough and guess what it broke, so i went back to the huge one. I just bought another one a few weeks ago, i lost the ball, so im back to the huge one again ha ha. I could eat for a few hours after that, come to think of it, my tongue was fine until the next day. No Swelling, nada. Then the next day when i woke up, i was in for a world o'hurt. I sucked on ice most of the day, after i got it done though. I think that really helped alot with the swelling. It healed up nicely aswell. The 2nd and 3rd days were the worst for me, i talked like a maroon {Yes! Maroon} and my tongue was like three times the size it should be. I had the ball marks in it for like weeks after the swelling stopped. ANyway, i digress, on with the story!

The only thing that sucked was i could not eat alot of solid food for maybe three or four days. It was mostly jello, icecream, and some pasta i could eat, Soup too! Soup and Ice are your best friends. I got sick of the listerine gig real fast though. Having to carry it around everywhere you went sucked. And not being able to drink while healing {but i did anyway}. I was really impressed though i must say. I did NOT expect it go to that smooth. I would recommend this piercing definatly. Its worth it.

I was super excited after i left the parlor. I did something for myself for once, that im happy with. I paid 70 bucks, which i will gladly pay for the cleanliness and professionalism {Spelling!?}. If its cheaper than 60 they are cutting costs somewhere. Two things though! Beware of the stupid people that ask you if it hurt, and dont stick it out like a fool. Anyway, if you are thinking of doing it, DO IT!!! Ciao
