Hey, I've read some of the other stories about tongue piercing on here, and some experiences are really bad! I first came to this site, a few months ago, because i was thinking about getting my tongue pierced after seeing a girl at school with it done!! It looked so good and she said it was great fun to have! So i thought before i went ahead and asked my parents i would look it up on the net, to see the good things and the bad, and I came across this site that had different peoples experiences on it! (cool site ) J

I thought hard about getting my tongue pierced, and i thought well...its going to kill! cause like I got my belly button done! and that hurt! and my ears, well they are just normal! everyone has them! but they hurt more then my belly! so I thought my tongue was just going to be horrible!
I went into the piercing place with my mum, and her friend, (my mums friend and i were both going to get it done) I was so scared! I had worked myself up for so long! My mums friend went first and she said it didn't hurt at all...so I sat down in the chair, Collin,
the guy who was doing the piercing, sat me down in the chair,
made me poke out my tongue as long as i can, and turn it up a bit, so it was straight out and not half way down my chin, he held my tongue out, and marked it with a dot, i then looked in the mirror to see if that spot suited me :) i went back over to him and sat down, he held my tongue, and placed a clamp on with a piece of cork under my tongue, as not to pierce straight through my lip as well!!!! he held the clamp in place, pushed the needle through my tongue, changed the needle to the shiny silver bar, and tightened the ends! and that was it! i went over to the sink, and rinsed my mouth out a few hundred times! with antiseptic mouth wash, went to the car and it was all done :)
For those of you, who are thinking oh its going to kill me! the pain! well it doesn't, that's exactly what i thought, but after it was done it was nothing, the pain was probably about the same as pricking your thumb with a sewing needle!
People were saying to me, oh i hope that u get a needle to numb your tongue, or something to numb it so that u don't feel it, but i didn't have anything, i don't think u would need it! it hardly hurts at all, so don't be scared!
That night, i was dribbling everywhere! I thought my tongue wasn't swollen at all, it just was uncomfortable, but my tongue did swell up a little, and i couldn't really talk at all, well i could! but not understandable :P but i just kept on rinsing my mouth out with mouth wash, and looking after it well, and now its fine!
3 months later and its perfect :) all healed up and doesn't hurt one bit! and also its great to play with! I'm forever poking it out of my mouth and running the bar across my lips!
If you are thinking about getting it done! do it! its great! and you won't regret it, as long as u look after it well it will heal up good and won't get infected.
But one thing! make sure you ask your parents about it first, and see that you are allowed, luckily for me my Mum said yes to it. My dad wasn't keen at all on me getting it done, he was scared that it was going to affect my speech, and wreck my beautiful teeth that he had spent thousands of dollars on... so i accepted my dads thoughts and looked further into it...
i asked my orthodontist about what dad had said, and He told me that it shouldn't change anything in my mouth, (jaw growth or anything) and that it shouldn't chip my teeth if i used plastic balls instead of metal attached to the bar. so i followed those instructions! and now it's all good :P
I got what i wanted! (got my tongue pierced) and also made my parents happy...
just don't go out and get it done, with out thinking it through... u don't want to waste your money, or make a hole in your tongue! for nothing :)
well that's my experience :)
I thought id write my experience, because i found that reading other peoples were helpful in making my final choice about getting it pierced! :)
Well! Thanks for having a cool site :)
Bye. Bye. Bye
