I have wanted to get my tongue pierced for about 3 years now, but my parents objected to it, so i had to wait til i turned 18. but of course i had just gotten a new job talking on phones, and i had to do it when i had at least 3-4 days off. So i decided to do it on a Saturday, and take Monday off to give me time to learn how to talk. I went in to the Asylum (lmao)(where my friend recommended to me, considering he had his tongue pierced three times, no not all in his tongue at once, he had lost 2 and finally got it a third time) scared to death, cause i get nervous getting my ears pierced, so yeah, safe to say i was terrified.

Anyway, a few of my friends had it done, and I wanted to do it so bad. So finally, today, 2 days before my 18th birthday, i decided tot ake the plunge (not to mention i didnt have to pay for it, because it was a birthday present from a friend, lol). We walked into the studio, and of course, i had forgotten my ID, had to call good ol mom to bring it to me. A couple of chicks were ahead of me getting their noses pierced, adn they bled and screamed, and made me even more nervous. I was looking around the shop, and saw a picture of Limp Bizkit, my favorite band, and a curious george clock, and for some reason that made me totally calm. Then i turn to see the pictures of horror movies he had, lol, that kind of made me jumpy again, but i went back to looking at my wonderful limp bizkit picture, and he was listening to korn on the radio, so that helped too. So when my turn came, he checked my ID, and led me back into the white doctor smelling room, which surprisingly was very comforting. The room had a dentist chair and doctors table, so i assumed we were going to the chair, but when i sat down he told me to get up and go to the table. I was scared again, but my friend held my hand, yes, i am a wuss. Anyway he made me rinse out my mouth with mouthwash, then told me to keep swallowing and dry my tongue until he was ready. Also, he had checked my tongue to make sure it was piercable before we went back there. Anyway, he dried my tongue, the marked a dot with a toothpick and some ink. He said it was for sterilization. By now i had my eyes shut tight. He put the clamp on my tongue, which didnt hurt, then told me to take 3 deep breaths, and on the 3rd breath out he stuck the needle in. Now there are people who say there is no pain, and yes, i agree with them. But i wont lie and say you cant feel it because it is not true, at all. But it was all over with really quick, and i realized a lot of what i felt was the clamp after i tightened my tongue from being nervous, cause when he took off the clamp it released a lot of pressure.

Anyway, he told me all the aftercare procedures, like using listerine after eating, smoking, anything but drinking water, and i asked a couple questions, like when i was going to be able to change the ring, and he told me 6 weeks, although i imagine i will take it out sooner, then i was on my way, after my friend payed =). It felt weird and will take some time to get used to, i cant really talk right, and it does hurt a little, but i just keep filling up my ice water, and all is well. I would definitly do it over again if i had to, cause it was worth it, although this just happened today, and i havent suffered the swelling or not being able to eat yet. I imagine that will all come, i will learn it when i get hungry, oh well i was on a diet anyway, guess this is a good dieting technique, lol. Well, i would recommend that if u r thinking about it to do it, but dont let people let you think you cant feel anything. Well thats my experiance, hope it helped some scared soul like me into the seat! If you feel like asking questions or any of the good stuff to someone who was also very very scared to get it done, then Email me at CandleboxCutie3@home.com. I would be happy to answer any questions that i know the answers to, considering i just got this done today, it is all fresh in my mind.
