At first I was against piercings and tattoos, because i thought that only the freaks and wierdos did it and people were against them (I was a prep back then). One day I decided I wanted to be different (my whole time of change as you may say). I read up on it and asked around and I decided it was meant to be.

I was 17 at the time and I was not of legal age. My mother decided she would sign for me to get it done only if I had the money. So I saved up my money to have it done and it was a grand total of $55 dollars, but I paid more (like $69) because I choose colored balls for my bar bell. I was so excited to have it done.

When I got to the parlor there was a sign on the door that said "No underage people, No one under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and No immature Fucks allowed to enter this building". I kinda chuckled at the sign because I was underage. When I walked in I marveled at the paintings on the walls and the different jewelry. I found there was not a wait at all and I was first to go. Scared at first, I walked in and sat on the chair and the artist (who is no longer there) explained to me what he was doing. After a little chit chat to calm me down he decided to do it and I decided to have it done. He told me to stick my tongue out as far as I could and he marked my tongue with a tooth pick with ink on it. Then he put a clamp on my tongue and pushed the sterilized 14 gauge bar bell through my tongue. Then he told me it was done. I pulled my tongue in my mouth and I looked up at him and said "That is it?" and he told me yes. I could not believe it! It didnt hurt or bleed at all. I went and paid for it and got the after care instructions and went off on my merry way. I was playing with it that day and eating solid foods (they never told me I could not). I was afraid that it would hurt later that night but it did not. I went to work that night and everything. Showing it off was the fun part. At school and at work no one could believe little old me had my tongue pierced and that my mother had let me! Some people thought I was a freak and others thought it was cool. A few days later it had gotten swollen but not overly bad. I was able to put a shorter bar bell in after about a week. A few weeks later I had thought it was infected because there was a little deformity, but it is all natural, due to the Listerine I was using every day after everything I did with my mouth. Listerine has a habit of turning your mouth white, due to the alcohol in it. The Listerine is an important part of the up keep to having your tongue pierced.

Now, a year later I have been stretching the hole out to where I can fit three 14 gauge bar bells in painlessly (and I can do it too!!!). I am proud of my self and look forward to getting more piercings. What's next you may ask? Hopefully my Labret, but I am still learning more about it.

If you would like hints to stretching out your hole... (I know that sounds bad) Play with your bar bell alot when you first have it done. Thats what I did to stretch it out.

I can not recommend the studio I went to because they have unfortunatly stopped doing piercings.

The store where I buy my piercing jewelry here is Indian Weavings. Bar bells run about $20 a piece. I have aquired alot of different bar bells for my tongue, like the slave bar bell also known as the door knocker, a glow in the dark bar bell, my original bar bell that has blue balls on it, a color changing bar bell, and a hoop for my tongue. I have had many more bar bells, all interesting in their own, but some of them got stolen or lost. I have had other piercings like my eyebrow and my cartalige on my ear but unfortunatly they got infected forcing me to have to take them out. I had done my eyebrow myself and I suggest not doing any piercings by yourself. Self piercing hurts and if you do it yourself it tends to get infected way too fast.

I hope my story has been informative to those who read it. I highly suggest getting the tongue pierced because its painless and its cool.
