When i first saw people with loads of holes, i thought it was disgusting. however, at the tender age of sixteen, i realized i needed a new look. for a long time i had been toying with the idea of getting my tongue pierced, but my parents firmly said no. i already had my ears done twice, and they weren't too happy about the 14 gauge hoops i was donning. that's probably because i didn't care for my ear piercings and they got infected a lot. not to mention they were (shudder) mall piercings. but, one week mommy and daddy went out of town, so i had a friend drive me to All Pro Custom.

i had to wait forever, and by the time it was my turn i was so worked up i was afraid i couldn't do it. not to mention, there was an audience in the room i was getting it done in. and i only knew some of them. i did though. i took a deep breath and matt (my piercer) lined up the clamp and quickly put the needle followed by the barbell in. no pain at all except for a slight pinching feeling at the bottom of my tongue. although, afterwards at a restaurant i thought i was going to black out. it looked great. it was straight and far enough back. for weeks it was hard to eat and very swollen, not to mention, extremely akward to speak. but well worth it. i cleaned it ten times a day with salt water and it turned out fine, except that i tore the bottom of my tongue because i played with it a lot, which is probably why it took so long to heal. it took about three weeks for all the swelling to go down and for it to feel better. i was always freaking out because i was afraid it was messed up because of the pussy stuff around the bottom ball.

well, a couple weeks later, my mom noticed. i told her i'd take it out if i could get my ear pierced again. she agreed. i ended up getting my inner conch done. ouch! it was quite painful, to say the least. my piercer rammed a 10 gauge needle through my ear. Actually, i didn't know it was a ten. he wouldn't let me see it until after he was done. i thought it would be a 14 or 12. it seemed to take forever, and he had to move where he was standing. i was getting ready to kick him in the nuts. i cussed SO loud, it was ridiculous. he followed with the 12 hoop. after the bleeding stopped, i realized how cool it looked. it hurt for a long time after, and was a little swollen and pussy, but it didn't get infected. plus, my mom hated it, but since she agreed she could say nothing. it made me happy to know my mom hated it. i cleanded it three times a day with antibacterial soap. although, i still can't sleep on the left side of my head, without waking up in pain.

well, upon leaving All Pro, i decided to keep my tongue ring in. in fact, i started jumping gauges. i am at a ten going on an eight now. to this day i am still grounded. i refuse to take my tongue ring out and my mom isn't fond of it. although i can't understand why!

after a while i felt the need to be pierced again. a friend of mine had wanted her navel done, but was scared. so, i agreed to get it done too. she had to go first because my piercer knew i could handle it. but didn't want her to chicken out (since he knew i always throw a fit) it's very VERY stressful the few seconds before you get pierced and my friend was literally freaking out (it was her first hole) but, i did it and it hardly hurt at all. he clamped it, marked it and used a 14 gauge needle. it got kind of yukky and crusty. it's okay, though.

so, there you go... my piercing experiences. it's a rush to get pierced and it looks fabulous. i'm currently thinking about getting my bridge or septum done. once one hole gets punched, it's hard to stop. but my advice is that a piercing is a responsibility... it needs to be cleaned regularly, and adjustments have to be made to accomidate a piercing. not to mention it's a pricey hobby. i've already spent almost $300 on holes and jewelry, and jumping gauges makes it all more expensive. it's kind of a pain to care for piercings at first, but in my opinion, is entirely worth it. it's a sign of individuality. the body is a canvas... paint it and punch holes in it.
