Hi,
At A Glance Author Joe Contact italianpsycho14@gmail.com When It just happened Studio Scorpions Den Location Davenport Iowa Today, I got my left lobe done at a 10 gauge. I had my right ear done and it has been stretched to a 6. I wanted my left lobe done at a relatively large size so it would be a similar size. Then after that, I can stretch up to my goal. This was my first professional piercing experience because I had done my right lobe myself. I would reccomend that you get pierced at a studio because doing my own piercing could have gone very wrong and could have gotten infected.
I arrived at the studio, and when I got there, they had me tell them what I wanted done. I did, they asked me to sign the papers and show my I.D. The piercer had many piercings himself and this made me feel better because I knew he knew what he was doing. He was very polite and this made me feel good to. It is one of the best piercing places in my town, and it is often claimed to be a local favorite.
Everything went well. The piercer went into his room and got everything ready. He showed me the clean needles and jewelry and had me sit down. I was going to get a industrial piercing done as well, but my ear is not suitable for it. He explained that I could get a vertical industrial, but at the time that wasn't what I wanted. He also informed me that he could force an industrial on my ear, but that would be bad and that it could result in some problems. I appreciated his honesty and am glad that an honest person was doing my piercing and that he was concerned for my well being and that he wasn't just trying to get money, like some other shops in my town.
He cleaned and marked my ear, then asked if I was ready. He showed me the needle and it seemed pretty big. I won't lie, I was pretty nervous. Luckily, I had brought some friends along for comfort. My dad signed for the piercing, but told me that he didn't like the idea of his son torturing himself. I told him that this was a personal choice and that it made me feel better about myself.
He cleaned and marked my ear, then asked if I was ready. I said I was. On the count of three he put the needle through and then slid the jewelry in. Overall, I would describe the pain as a mild discomfort. It didn't hurt much at all. It felt just like the 14 gauge piercing did. I was expecting much more pain than this. I sort of enjoyed the pain that it was, because it wasn't to extreme. I didn't even make any noise, and according to my friends all that happened was I looked a bit uncomfortable. I think I did a pretty good job of managing everything and didn't embarrass myself in front of them.
I kinda wish i would have gotten it done at a larger size, but i didn't have that much money. If somebody were to ask me where a piercing should be done, I would most definetely refer them to the scorpions den. I am very pleased with my experience and have no regrets. I think that everything went very well and that the piercer was very smart and honest.
I then paid him and he showed me after care and told me to call if I needed anything He also told me what soap to use and why not to use scented soaps. He explained to me that the jewelry would feel heavy for the first few days and that this was fine. He then showed me how to take the bead off and how to put it back on. I thanked him and he let me try to do it a few times. This was good because I had no idea how to remove the jewelry. After this we talked about his piercings and he told me how much they hurt and what his favorite ones where. I think this was very polite of him. I thanked him for this and he went on to explain that if I needed anything unique done to talk to him about it. I said thanks and went on my way. I plan on doing something unique and will be going to him.
It was a pleasant experience. I am glad that I did this and plan on returning there for my next piercing, which will be a vertical industrial. They have very good prices on piercings and I may even go there when I get a tattoo done. It is a pretty friendly atmosphere and I like the people there. It seems like a very good environment.
