Right now, I have 12 piercings. I have three helix, two snugs, 14g earlobes, conch, tragus, antitragus, daith, tongue and lip. Each one of them has been a fun if not a painful experience. I will admit that I am addicted to piercings and I have already another one on my mind. I would love to get the frenulum piercing, "tongue web". My finance tries to tell me that I have enough and that facial piercings such as the lip, eyebrow, and nose take away from natural beauty. Little does he or anyone knows is that they are a part of me and make me feel better about myself. Some people may never understand, but that is okay.

My original experience with the snug piercing started two months ago. I was web surfing as usual about various piercings and came across the snug piercing. I heard about it and never saw anyone with it, so that made me interested even more. I did my research on the web about the pros and cons of having a snug piercing, but fell absolutely in love with the piercing. I loved the placement and it had a "cute" factor. Finally, enough was enough, I went into La Belle La Vie, and asked Andy to do my piercing. Andy has done most of my piercings, and an excellent piercer.

I honestly can not remember if the piercing was painful or not, I just remember it being rather uncomfortable with the clamp. Sometimes I block pain out, and for a good reason. For the next two weeks I had some swelling, and the pain wasn't too bad, but it was annoying when I slept on it. Once the bar was very visible to see I thought than it would be perfect to downsize, so I went back to La Belle La Vie and had a female piercer this time. She had a bit of an issue getting the smaller piece in there but it finally worked. I asked her to put the black spikes on the snug jewelry and it looked perfect.

Four days later I noticed that my piercing had become kind of puffy and a bubble started to have formed. This was because of the "trauma" of the female piercer trying to get the downsized piercing in the hole and partially my fault for having it downsized too soon. I read later that it should be downsized after two months. I got a little concerned so I went back in and had it checked out my the piercer. He told me it was abcessed and to do sea salt soaks once a day for about five minutes. So I went home and did the sea salt soaks for about two weeks and for awhile nothing happened. Then I noticed pus and blood on the cotton balls. This was when I knew I was getting somewhere. Finally it started dry up and peel off. I took the abcessed and pulled it off and it hasn't come back thankfully. Yes, I do know that probably wasn't smart, but I got so tired of looking at it.

I than came across a picture of a woman on the internet with a "double snug" and I wanted it so badly. The difference I noticed with hers and mine was that hers was done on the same day and I waited for a month in between. Andy at La Belle La Vie won't do two piercings in one day on the same person because he told me it was cause shock to the body. A week before my birthday I went in to La Belle La Vie and Andy was there. Remember when I said earlier about not remembering the previous pain? Well this reminded me all over again! The clamp was very painful because it's at an weird angle and the snug is rather small. I felt the needle go through and yes, that too was painful. I was happy it was over and done with. This piercing is definitely not for the faint of heart.

My previous snug was done at a 14g but Andy felt it was a good idea to do the second one at a 16g to eliminate the idea of crowding, and once it had healed, he would stretch it to a 16g. I waited for about a month and my new snug healed without too much conflict. Yesterday, May 25th, I went back in and he stretched my snug to a 16g that was a little painful, but more on the uncomfortable side. He than put the spikes on the ends like I asked him to. I am in love with my double snug.

To me, it was well worth the pain and wait. I couldn't be anymore happier. I feel almost complete. Piercings for me make me feel better about myself, and I am a unique person who has a thing for pain! I am just hoping that the healing process goes well now.
