Well I remember wanting to get an industrial piercing back when I was watching a TV show of some girl that got kidnaped and they were interviewing her. I was so into the story but as soon as I saw her piercing on her ear I was totally paralyzed. I loved it! I stopped what I was doing and went to my computer to go look it up and found out it was called an industrial piercing, well hers was a vertical industrial.

I was 15 at the time. She instantly asked "Estas loca?" which meant are you crazy, in Spanish. I so was not gonna give up that easily. I begged and begged and asked her why if I was not a bad kid and I did good in school. It took her about a week to finally say yes.
So meanwhile I did my research thoroughly to be sure what I was getting into. After that I started looking for a place to actually get it. So I searched and somehow I stumbled upon Anomaly body Piercing Studio. I read some of there reviews and visited there website and what not and they seem very clean and reliable. I think all their employees were members of the APP too so that was definitely a plus. So on .. I think November 23 of 200707 I decided to go get it. So my mom, brother, his girlfriend and I went. We walked in and there was only one employee there that said that I needed an ID and at least a driver's license from my mom to prove she was my mom. So we drove back home which was a couple cities away from Pasadena and got it. We went back and he took a look at my ear and said that I would probably get it at a 16gauge since it was really thin and delicate.
So the first time we had gone in it was pretty empty but the second time it was pretty packed. There was one girl ahead of me who was gonna get her nose pierced. After he the whole bunch of people left. I'm guessing they were all with her. So the guy that worked there told me to fill out a couple of worksheets which I did and yeah my mom signed. So then he did a spore test thing.
After all that was done he took me and my family to a back room which was relatively small but very clean. In the center it had a dentist type chair in which I sat. He had a tray of shiny needles and what not already set up. He washed his hands and put on gloves and some other stuff and got started on how it was gonna go.
I remember sitting there waiting for him to get started and saying to myself "Maritza what did you get yourself into!?". I only had ear lobes done. He told me to breathe in and I did, so did he. He was a big guy so he definitely had a set of lungs. I'm a very small girl so like I could barley keep up. So I did that 3 times and when I was exhaling the third time he pushed the needle in.
I closed my eyes and I was like.. Is that it? And he was like well that was the first one. It did not hurt as much as I thought it would. It just felt really like sharp and quick. My mom said it went in really easily I guess since my ear is so thin. He did the second one and he put the barbell in. He cleaned my ear up a bit since it was bleeding. He then told me if I wanted to see it in the mirror and I did. It looked great! I loved it. So I paid him. $70. Well including 8 dollar tip. It started getting warm but DID NOT hurt. Wow! :D so yeah we left and it was all well. Sleeping was sort of tough. It hurt even more if I barley touched it against anything. And a couple annoying people tried to touch it at school which was definitely bothersome.
It's been like nine months and I've developed bumps that come and go and now it seems to be doing just well so that is good. Even till now I still get the "WOAH WHAT'S THAT ON YOUR EAR?!" question. I definitely don't regret getting it and I still love it. Just make sure to keep it clean don't bump it and you'll do great. This experience was really cool since I got to learn a lot about other piercings and what not too. Next up.. Tragus at Anomaly Studios. Those guys are great.
