My friend and I decided it was time to get some piercings, with hectic work schedules it was really hard for us to get together and get them but finally we decided on a day. Now my friend is petrified of needles, and doesn't even have her lobes pierced, but she was bound and bent she was going to get something. I had had my standard upper cartilage done at another local shop, (I won't mention any names) but they used much too small of a captive, and it started to cut my ear open so sadly two weeks after it was retired. I already had my standard nostril, and I wanted the upper ear again for sure, but wasn't sure what else. I also got my nose pierced at Nighthawk.

We got to Nighthawk, and we were greeted by Mark. I filled out the necessary forms and selected the jewelry. My friend didn't have any ID with her birth date on it so she had to wait for her mom to fax it to the studio. I said I just wanted my helix, and Mark escorted us into the room, and I sat down.

I explained to him that at the other studio my piercing didn't last, and explained why, and he said that wouldn't be an issue. I decided to put my helix on the opposite side as my nose, to even things out, even though it would be going through scar tissue. He could see where the piercing used to be, and he told me that they pierced it through the thickest part of my ear, and I would have never been able to wear anything other than a CBR. The thing I really liked about Mark is that he put the earring on my ear to insure that I liked the placement and size of the hoop, and to ensure that it fit around my ear, instead of just marking it with the marker. We ended up switching to one size larger of captive to make sure that the same thing didn't happen again.

He marked my ear, put on the clamp and did the standard,

1, 2, 3 breathe in, breathe out, and the needle was through. It was relatively painless except for at the back when it went the scar tissue although I went higher than before. I'm a bleeder, and it didn't bleed to much, a couple drops. While he was cleaning it up, I asked him about the tragus, and he said that it wasn't that much more discomforting than what I just went through, and I asked him if I could do it now. He said yeah for sure, and started to set up again. He cleaned my ear, took the CBR, put it on, marked it, and clamped it.

1, 2, 3 Breathe In, Breathe out Needle was through. It hurt less than I expected, and I have small ears. It was hard to explain the feeling, it kind of almost felt like a headache, just a dull ache and allot of pressure. All in all it was a simple piercing, and I had less adrelaine than the first one. He was surprised I didn't flinch. For both piercings it was 70$, which I didn't think was that bad.

I got the tragus on my left side and the helix on my right side, and after I was finished he joked about me being able to sleep and talk on the phone, which so far hasn't been an issue.

My friend finally got ID and she was extremely nervous, Mark was able to do her two piercings easily and quickly to comfort her. All in all a great piercing day. He pierced her cartilage, and pierced her tragus, then put the jewelery in to ease her discomfort, which was nice to get them both out of the way, then to insert the jell wry. It made everything allot easier for her. I wish he could have done that with me, but my impulsiveness prevented that LOL.

Once my Helix is healed I planed to switch it to a gemmed labret, and do a second one underneath it, and Change that to a gemmed labret as well, and I have already ordered a lime green CBR with a CZ gem in the ball for my tragus, but while they are healing I have also ordered colored Captive balls to replace the standard metal ones I have now. I can't wait until they come in. It will be a nice pop of color from the boring metal ones. (ordered at www.bodyartforms.com )

I strongly recomend Mark, based on his experiance and thoroughness. It happened yesterday and I barely even notice them now. I will for sure be back for more of my "body mods" mild as they are. My tragus isn't bothering me at all, but my ear is now kind of a dull ache.
