I have always loved piercings, even when I was little I liked them; in fact I got my first hole at age 4. Now I'm 14 and have 7 piercings. I'm constantly going to BME and looking at new and interesting piercings. I guess this is where I'll start my story. I was 12 and wanted my navel pierced. Well my mom instantly said no to the piercing. I constantly asked her for the piercing but the answer was always the same, no. You see I take karate and spar in class and she didn't want me to get hurt. Finally I gave up on trying to get the piercing, don't get me wrong I still want it I just have to wait until I'm 18. Then I started on the industrial because she has a friend who got it done and my mother thought it was cute. I figured I had a better chance getting this piercing then my navel piercing.

That made me so excited because coming from her that is a very good statement. I don't know how I did it but I finally got her to let in I was to get it the day after my black belt test (she didn't want me to have anything get in the way of my passing my black belt test and this piercing could do that). So it was settled I would get it done in a few weeks. Now came the hard part... where to get it done. I had a good idea of where I wanted to go but for some reason my mom didn't like it. So I asked around to see where a good piercing parlor was. Everyone I or my mother talked to said either Time Bomb or American Tattoo. The first place I went to was Time Bomb but my mom didn't like that place (probably because of the large ring in his spectrum). That was okay though because they would need my birth certificate, I don't think we even have it anymore, anyway I didn't get my piercing there. So it was on to Am erican Tattoo to get my piercing.
We got there and I loved how clean it was there and how nice everyone there was. It was then that I decided that was where I would get my piercing. My mom signed the release form for me and then we were asked to wait for the piercer because he was doing a tongue piercing at the time. So we sat and looked at there tattoo books while we waited. Finally the piercer, Brian, came out and took us over to where he kept the ear bars and found one that would fit my ear at a size 14 gauge. Then he directed us to the piercing rooms. I must admit that the room was quite clean it reminded me a doctor's office. He had me sit down while he put on his gloves and cleaned my ear with the cleaning stuff (I can't think of the name). Then sterilized the bar to be put in my ear. He then asked me if I had a fear of blood or needles. I told him that I had a fear of needles so he didn't let me see it. Next he put the marks on my ear as to where the bar would be put and asked me if I liked it. I thou ght the placement was done very well as did my mother. So finally it was time for the piercing he counted one...two...PIERCE before he got to three the needle went through the top part of my ear. It didn't bleed or make a "crunch" noise. My mother said that my face had gone all white and my eyes scrunched up from the pain. But my ear was to numb now for me to feel anything. This I was happy of, now for the second hole one... two... PIERCE again right before three. This time my ear didn't hurt as much probably because of how numb my ear was at this point. So it was done without any blood or "crunch" noise. He thought he had done an excellent job as did my mother and I. He told me how to take care of my ear and when I could come back to get my bar shortened. We kindly paid him the $40.00 and left.
Then we went to the drugs store and got what was needed to clean my ear plus some Tylenol because the pain was giving me a headache. As we went to pay the checkout man asked who had a new piercing because of what I had bought and I showed him. He loved how well I got it done and knew that it was Brian who pierced it for he is the only one that pierced that good. My ear hurt a lot forever and still hurts at times but nothing that is unbearable. Everyone I have run into has looked and either said, "ouch" or "awesome" or both. I get a lot of attention from such a different piercing and haven't quite got used to it yet but I know I will. I defiantly recommend getting this piercing because it is just awesome and the pain is well worth it. In fact it has started a new addiction for me and the next piercing I want is venom but that is a different story when I get it done.
