My name is Russell Hunt. I want to describe how I finally got my ear holes to a 4 gauge. I got my left ear pierced around June 2001 at Wal-Mart. I told the lady I was 18 so I could get it done so she proceeded to pierce my left ear, when she was done I was like "this is so cool." A month later I got bored of having only one ear pierced so I pierced my right ear on July 4th. I did it my self I had to pierce it three times, before I got it to match the left ear hole. It hurt and it got sore, (I would not recommend piercing your own ear it's very painful and you can get it infected.) I left the earring in it, and about a week later it was doing better.

My mom always told me I was not ever going to get anything pierced until I was moved out of her house but she noticed my left ear when I was at work she was mad, but she got over it and she also watched me pierce my right ear. She did not get that mad but she thought it was (quote) gay for boys to wear earrings.
I got a job at Wal-Mart and they told me that I could not wear hoops in my ears for safety reasons. It made me mad and I have a friend that has gauged ear holes and I thought it would be pretty neat to try and make my ear holes that big, so I asked the manager if I could wear something else besides hoop ear rings and he said "sure." That is when I decided that I was going to start gauging my ear holes. I am no longer employed with Wal-Mart by the way .
My friend would sell me his earrings every time he got bigger ones. I think he might have 4 gauges now. First he sold me a pair of 12 gauge hoop earrings for $30 dollars. I wore them for about a month, then when I ran into him again he told me that he had a pair of 10 gauge hoop earrings for sale. I bought them for $15 dollars. I did not think that they looked that big, but everyone else that seen them was like "wow" those are huge."
I wore the 10 gauge earring for about 2 weeks and then decided that I wanted to go a little bigger. I went to the mall to see if I could find some really neat plugs. Never buy earrings from the mall they will rip you off. The mall is too expensive shop around on the Internet, or a tattoo place they usually sell ear rings.
I went into a earring store and found a pair of 8 gauge plugs that I liked they were blue and white swirled they were $15 dollars, so I bought them they went right in my ear holes with no problem (do this the safe way, sterilize the ear hole and earring before placing it in the ear hole, unlike me). I only wore them for a week and then I decided that I wanted to go bigger. I went back to the mall a week later and found a set of 6 gauge plugs for $15 dollars a piece so the set cost me $30 dollars altogether. That was my biggest mistake, my ear holes were not ready to stretch ,but I was determined to get them in, well I got them in but they hurt pretty bad and got infected.
I wore the 6 gauges for about a few days, until my girlfriend broke my necklace and then I got to thinking, that I could fit a piece of the broken necklace into my holes so I tried it and they went in, with a little force. Again another mistake, they got real bad infected. I never took them out. I liked them because they had a hollow middle thought them, that way I would not have to keep taking the tubing out of my ear to let people see through my hole, because it hurt when I took the tubing out, and I do not enjoy pain as much as some people do.
My girlfriend has a brother in law that has 0 gauge in his ear. He told me that if I gave him some money he would go to Florida and get me some 2 gauge plugs with a hollow middle. He told me that he could get plugs for $3 dollars a piece, because he is a good friend with the owner of the earring store. When I was wearing 10 gauge earrings, he had a 6-gauge hoop, and I wanted to see if I could get it in my hole so I was going to see if it would fit. It fit the 6 gauge went right into my hole and I was shocked! I know now from reading about stretching now, that you should never skip a size because you can screw up your ear, and possibly rip your earlobe, so I am taking my time, because all good things come with time. :)
Well the whole reason I am even stretching my ear holes is because I think it is a really neat experience and I love attention from my ears. Christmas break I had 8 gauge plugs in my holes and I bet I took the plugs out about 30 times to let people see through my holes. Most of the guys think that it is cool, some are even trying to stretch earlobes. The girls when I show them they say dang I bet that that had to hurt.
I want to be able to wear a hoop earring in a tunnel plug. My girlfriend does not think that it is nasty she just tells me that I better stop stretching , when I start having second thoughts. I have stuck some nails in my ears once "would not recommend, can cause serious infection" it hurt pretty badly so I quit putting things in my holes besides earring materials.
I have the biggest ear holes at my school. Now that the guys see my holes they are all trying to get theirs to be as big as mine. I will also send in my picture of my ears when I get a scanner. If anyone has any questions or comments you can email me at cakemix_16@hotmail.com
I hope everyone reads this and pays attention about sticking things in your earlobes, and stretching as fast as I did. I am stressing this. It can cause serious infection and it will look pretty gross, just take your time gauging, and only put earring materials in your ears. Take it from me I messed up my ear holes, so I have to start gauging all over again. I was wearing a 4 gauge but now I have to wear an 8 gauge again, and it sucks.
