Write your soul down, word for word

Take your head around the world See what you get From your mind Write your soul down word for word See who's your friend Who is kind From the age of 9 or so, I've fancied myself somewhat of a poet. Granted, I'm more of a hack and a wannabe than a Sylvia Plath, but I'm still a poet in my mind. Ever since I learned to read, I had been obsessed with writing - and as I got older, that obsession turned to song lyrics. In high school, I was browsing a used CD store and came across Yourself ... read more

Never leave tattoo guns unattended around drunk teens.

I was about thirteen or fourteen when this 'tattoo' happened, and this was back before the days of me being straight edge, so as you can predict, I was trashed after a huge party at my then, boyfriends place. The boys and I, returned to my buddies house that night around 4am, totally smashed and high as kites. Being me however, I immediately passed out on his sofa, leaving a room full of immature, intoxicated boys, looking for something to do, and even being heavily under the influence, I was still the responsible voice of reason, but what could possibly ... read more

My rib tattoo - the start of somethin' beautiful

After months of reading everyone else's experiences with their rib pieces I'm finally able to upload my own story. I started my oriental rib piece yesterday and survived the first session. I already have two tattoos. One across my shoulder blades on my upper back, and one small symbol on the base of my neck. Also being a fan of body piercing, I have three. Tongue, VCH and navel. So I wouldn't say I'm whimp when it comes to pain and once I have set my mind to wanting something, I'm not easily put off. I had done a lot ... read more

Memories and celebrations

When I first emigrated to the UK I came here with the intention to train to be a nurse. I managed just over 2 years of training before being asked to leave...but that's another story. During my first year of training I had my first tattoo done which was a little butterfly on my shoulder (I know, zero points for originality but I was ever so proud of it). For the next few years I bummed around not really knowing what I wanted to do with my life but was happy just trying out as much as possible. During this ... read more

In memory of a wonderful woman

For a long time I have been wanting to get a tattoo in memory of my Nan, something that would mean a lot to me. My Nan was the type of person who would love anyone no matter what, would treat my friends as if they were part of the family and never forgot anyone's birthday even if they weren't related to her. So for ages I had been thinking of a design, something that would fit, something that felt right. In the end I decided I wanted a horse as a part of the design because I always remember ... read more

First tattoo.

My first experience of getting tattooed was extremely pleasant and not as painful as I had anticipated. I have loved tattoos and body mod in general since I was a child and after having my septum, both nostrils, 4 surface piercings, multiple ear piercings, my lip, my tongue and navel pierced, I decided that it was time to move on to ink so on turning 18 I was thrilled to finally get my first tattoo. Having had years to think and plan what I wanted tattooed the decision processes wasn't as lengthily as I had thought. I decided to have ... read more

Finally

My tattoo has been a long thought out process which has probably taken about 10 years to finally come to fruition. The first dilemma was that I didn't think that I was the type of person that had have mod's done (something I got over that about 12 months ago by getting my hood pierced and followed that with my nose). The second dilemma was what to have tattooed. I have thought about this for what felt like forever and just could not come up with anything. I didn't want something that somebody else had. It had to be meaningful ... read more

worst experience ever

The day before my seventeenth birthday, I decided I wanted to get a tattoo. My mom was totally against the idea of me getting a tattoo, so obviously she would not sign a parental consent form. So it was either wait another year to get something I always wanted or find a way to do it without my mom's consent. One of my mom's friends knew a guy who she said was a licensed tattoo artist. His name was Pollock. My mom's friend went with me to meet this guy. He seemed nice enough but there was something fishy about ... read more

My Granny Ink

I had this tattoo planned out for about a month or so but I knew that the studio was probably booked like crazy. I booked it near the end of May and was able to get an appointment for July 4th. I made sure as soon as I found out the date, to request that day off from work far ahead of time so when the time comes they couldn't hassle me about not giving them enough notification. I really cannot draw anything decent to save my life so I looked around on Google and Google images for an idea ... read more

La storia del mio primo tatuaggio

Ho sempre amato i tatuaggi. Fino all'estate scorsa.
