my first true love - homemade spiderbites!

The first time I saw snakebites I was about thirteen (I think!!) and at first I thought "ewww, gross that must have been so painful!" but as I started to see more and more of them I began to think "hmmm, maybe they're not so bad, maybe they're cool" then I actually began to really like them. However I always wanted original piercings and snakebites (where I live anyway) were really common. So when I was doing more research on the internet and I came across spiderbites I instantly fell in love with them. I am only fifteen so I ... read more

My lobe story. From nothing to 44mm in a year.

I've stretched my ears off and on three times since I was fourteen. I'm now nineteen. The reason that it was 3 times, instead of one solid slow consistent stretch with tape was mostly due to age. Being stupid, fourteen, and using cheap silicone tunnels. I just wish that someone would have told me how to correctly stretch, before I ripped my lobes multiple times. So, I let them heal, and as one closed completely, the other lobe had so much scar tissue after a 5/8 to 3/4 silicone dead stretch, no more damage could be done. A little over ... read more

Collarbone Microdermals

I've been interested in the body modification world for years now, I've always enjoyed getting piercings. I've had quite a few piercings before getting these, mostly minor ones. I've had my lip done three times, but the other piercer placed it wrong and it migrated to the point that I just took it out. I've also had my smiley pierced a few times along with four earlobe piercings with one set gaged to 2. Along with my cartilage twice. Overall I believe im thoroughly addicted to getting pierced, and I have plans for a whole set of about eight Micros. ... read more

boyfriend saliva, just what a new piercing needs.

Now, I'm not one of those people that has always wanted a belly button ring. I used to think they were trashy, the equivalent of a tramp stamp, until me and my boyfriend were talking about piercings. He really wanted his lip done (one year later, and he still wants it), and I realized that I'm blessed with a flat tummy, why not accentuate it? At this time I had a bunch of self done ear piercings (4 lobes in each ear, and two cartilage-OW!) and my nose stud, so I didn't have anything to compare the pain of a ... read more

My Chelsea Smile

I've been into body mods for quite some time now. When I was eight, I went with my (much) older sister to get her first tattoo, and I was hooked. After much begging and bargaining, my mother allowed me to get my first piercing when I was 15. I got an off center labret, which was not very common at the time. Over the past several years, everyone I see has a lip piercing, and I got frustrated. I hate seeing someone with the same things as me, whether it's a T-shirt or a piercing. After several tattoos and other ... read more

Father-daughter piercing experience

Every once in a while, the voice of quality and of alternative culture triumphs over that of mass-culture garbage. This is one of those stories. For me, body piercing and tattooing are things that when done right make the world a prettier, more playful place. And I just put my money where my mouth is. My daughter turned ten this fall. A number of her friends have had their ears pierced and she had been asking to get hers done. Her mother said okay and from some of the girls' parents they got the names of a couple of mall ... read more

DIY Lip Piercing

About a month ago, I was in my room researching every story, tip, warning, etc. about lip piercings that you could imagine! I was also thinking about how I have wanted one for so long and how my parents would NEVER let me get it done because I already had my nose pierced. Then I decided that I knew enough about the piercing to do it myself without it getting infected and that I was going to get my lip pierced no matter what. I didn't have a proper needle or lip piercing, just a regular nose piercing and sewing ... read more

Do you ever plan your piercings?

To start, I'm completely addicted to piercings. As soon as my mother let me get my second lobes pierced, I got hooked. A year later I was sporting two impromptu and dangerous (done with a gun due to my lack of better judgement) cartilage piercings and had just made the decision to pierce my tragus. By 'made the decision,' I mean that my work had just paid me and I was standing outside the shop. I was slightly nervous as I'd never been pierced anywhere but a pharmacy and with anything besides a piercing gun, however the piercer Michelle assured ... read more

Sixteen 18g surface piercings, one corset.

I like to jump into scary new things and then deal with the consequences. This generally works out in my favor. Sometimes, I get in over my head; sometimes, it's a successful new experience that I'm proud to have gone through. A sixteen-point corset, done for a photo shoot, was fortunately the latter. I had traveled to Kansas City, Missouri this November 2009 to shoot and hang out with awesome photographers and models. One of the models is a most kick-ass professional piercer: Heather LeStabbityDeath, who pierces at Lasting Impressions in Des Moines, Iowa. I had idly said that in ... read more

Cheeky

I am currently an apprentice at Ink Kandy Tattoo in Hollywood, CA, Chris Saint is my mentor. I had been wanting my cheeks pierced for a few months, I had asked Chris if he would want to do them for me, he agreed. I was extremely hesitant about the idea, but he said whenever I want them to let him know and we will do it. So a few weeks had passed and I came out and said "okay let's do it!" I set up for the procedure, obviously because I'm his apprentice, I had never seen them be done ... read more
