Nape Dermal Anchors

I have had very long standing plans to get the nape of my neck pierced. But I had put it off for quite a while. Initially all I knew about was surface piercings and I was worried about their chance of rejection. Then one day I was trolling the internet and came across dermal anchors. Amazed by this I picked up my phone to schedule my appointment with the one piercer I trusted to pierce me. Little did I know that he quietly moved to New Zeeland. Well now what do I do? Time to start the piercer hunt, after ... read more

My impromptu philtrum/medusa

About a week ago I realized that I could pierce my lip starting from the top of my bottom lip and ending below my lip. Why is this important when I'm writing about my philtrum piercing? Well, when I realized this and found out it was an actual piercing, a vertical labret, I decided I would go to Evolved the very next Thursday to get it done. The thing is Evolved has a buy one get one special on Thursdays. At first I decided I would get the other side of my navel but changed my mind to my other ... read more

my exciting, fun filled, nipple piercing adventure.

Wednesday 9/9/09. Epic day. I had finally decided on getting my nipples pierced. Only after I had picked the Wednesday, after I was in the shop signing the form for my piercings did I realize it was 9/9/09. How exciting. Any who, I had decided to get my nipples pierced on a partial whim of teenage freedom of expression. A breakthrough for my adult hood as I had recently turned 18 and was in college. So I could do that sort of thing without asking my mom. Chances are she wouldn't have agreed. So yay for the legal age of ... read more

A Five Year Whim

College is about growth, decisions, both good and bad. When I turned eighteen I had gone to a random piercer in Orlando and had my eyebrow pierced. Two months later the piercing had grown out and left a scar, to this day small children run up to me and point out their chicken pox scars in relation to the eye brow mark I bear. Two years after the failed eyebrow piercing I was entertaining the idea of a tongue piercing. I honestly don't know what appealed so much about the piercing, but my junior year in college I was in ... read more

Love my tragus!

Last week I decided to get my tragus pierced. I work in an office, where my nose ring was acceptable, but an eyebrow or lip piercing wouldn't be. The tragus seemed like a classier piercing than most, and my boss was ok with it. My grandma (who has plenty of ear piercings, her navel and a few tattoos) asked what it was, so I showed her on my ear and pulled up a few pictures online. She said she wanted to get it done too, so we made plans for the following weekend. I spent hours on Google and YouTube ... read more

My lower back surface piercing

I love piercing's! I recently decided to get a surface piercing. I decided to get my lower back pierced and my belly button. I had been looking on this web site, bmezine.com and saw that you could get anything pierced that you can pinch basically. The back piercing looked fun and cute so I wanted it! I went to Virginia beach ink in Va beach Va. My friend Jane Rae told me that they were having piercings for sale for only 10 dollars. That included the jewelry and everything. The piercers name is "Shimp". I got my back then my ... read more

Just want to get it right...

I already have more than a few body mods but that same old itch to get another one hit hard. I started out by looking around on Google and BME before finally deciding on the right side of my lip. I didn't have but a little bit of money at the time so I figured the best option would be one that I could manage on my own. My lip didn't seem to be something difficult or something that would require much experience. First things first, I had to get my supplies. This gave me about four or five days ... read more

Learning From Experience (A Cautionary Customer Sevice Tale)

As an individual who has grown up in the Body Modification community; I always considered myself to be pretty knowledgeable about what to look for when dealing with the experience of going to a new piercing (or tattoo) studio. Looking for certification, cleanliness of the environment, and etcetera. I often inquire about the years of experience the individual professional has had, how many years their studio has been in operation - so on and so forth. However, for once in my life - all my prior knowledge and experience failed me when I decided to journey into "Grand Island Ink". ... read more

My beautiful nape piercing.

I should start this off with saying I currently have twenty piercings, and have had over forty if you count everything that has been ripped out, taken out, and/or re-pierced. I'm not quite sure what made me decide that I wanted a nape piercing, but I've always seemed to love getting piercings that aren't common, and ones that get comments such as, "WOW, how does that work?!" Anyway, one morning I woke up and decided I wanted to get my nape pierced. I never even considered it before that day. I have long hair and figured it would be constantly ... read more

Another wonderful piercing; my vertical labret

I was sitting at home one day doing a whole lot of nothing and playing with my lip when I came to a sudden realization; it's completely possible to have a lip piercing that started where a labret would be but came out the top of the bottom lip. As soon as I realized this I fell in love with the idea. I was sure such a piercing must already exist and I wanted it. It sounded beautiful and wouldn't have the risk of harming the teeth like a normal labret. I asked a friend of mine who is an ... read more
