Septum piercing

I live right by (about two blocks away) my favorite tattoo and piercing shop. So Wednesday I walked over to Immortal Ink in Flemington, NJ for a new mod. I decided to get my septum pierced. I have my nostril pierced twice already and it was about as benign as an earlobe piercing, super easy healing. I didn't have those piercings done at Immortal, but that meant I was about due, right? ;) In any event, I knew this would be a bit more painful. My eyes didn't actually tear up with the nostril piercings but with the septum? Most ... read more

Piercing #7: My tongue!

I got my tongue pierced 2 weeks and 2 days ago. This is a weird story, at least for me. With most of my piercings, I decided I wanted to get them and then I made myself think about it for much longer than I probably needed to. After all of that, if I still wanted it, I went out and got it. I don't know why I made myself wait so long, as I never decided to NOT get said piercing. My tongue, however, is entirely different. It was a piercing I always found cool. On other people. The ... read more

My First "Pop"

This was awhile ago, but I’ll give it my best shot at remembering all the details. During the same appointment as my daith at Trendsetters (early February, 2007), I had also planned on getting an outer conch piercing. I’m pretty sure Trendsetters almost never uses captive bead rings for cartilage piercings (except for daiths, apparently), as when I explain what I wanted (a ring on the edge of my outer conch, not a helix though), they said “Alright, we’ll put in a curved barbell”. I understand that this lowers the amount of knocking around and such though and the curved ... read more

My Very Happy Septum Piercing

've only reasonably recently begun to get into body modification and it's tending to be quite addictive. My first mod was a self done lip piercing (dumb I know but I was well informed and there were no complications with healing or placement). That was followed up with another on the other side, then ears, and now septum. Although I am relatively new to body modification I have plans for numerous other piercing/tattoo and possibly scarification projects in the future. Although I am young, I believe that I have the intelligence and foresight to make decisions about further modifying my ... read more

Lip Times Two

In August 2007, I got my first "real" piercing- a lip ring on the right side of my bottom lip. My friend and I finally got them done a week before our final year of school started after a 5 year wait, and we were nervous but we made our way to Outer Limits eventually on a Thursday with her mum and I had my first lip piercing done with basically no pain in a sterile place with a really friendly piercer. I honestly couldn't have asked for better. I was also given an aftercare sheet. Two more things I ... read more

2nd time around

About three years ago, I got my nipples pierced. Nothing special, just 14ga horizontal captive beads. They didn't hurt that badly when I had them done, but the healing was a bitch. They seemed to stay weepy and sore for well over a year. After a while, one got ripped at a show and the other decided it wanted to migrate, so I decided to go ahead and retire them in August 2002. Fast forward to November 2003. I finally decided I wanted to get my nipples repierced. The two major issues with that were timing and lack of funds, ... read more

I Don't Want to See It! [Snug]

On Valentine's Day of 2009, I got my "real" piercing...a forward helix in my left ear. I had a little bit of trouble with it, but overall, I absolutely adore it and it didn't take long for the fabled "piercing addiction" to attack and make me want more. But what to get? I really wanted something that not a lot of people have, and I didn't want to stray from my ears (my family is really against all other piercings and already kind of frown down upon the total of three piercings I now have in each ear). Eventually, I ... read more

My lovely septum piercing...

I had wanted my septum pierced for about a year. I finally told my parents I had wanted it. They asked me if I had researched it and everything and I did. I had looked it up for a long time. I told my parents all about it. Like it could be hid, it wasn't that painful, and that it's easy to take care of. They said yes I could get it and they would even pay for it. They said it would be my Valentines day present from them. I thanked them a million times. I told them the ... read more

Mission Uvula

So I have been interested in piercings for several years and the unique ones always caught my eye. I fell in love with the uvula piercing the first time I saw it. I started calling around the local shops and not only will no one do the piercing for me, they all highly recommend against it. Typically I would say to listen to your piercer. However, no one I talked to had ever done it or knew anyone who had. They sighted the obvious complications as reason enough not to proceed. I put mission uvula on the back burner for ... read more

My first REAL Cartilage Experiance!

Well, although I have been working in this industry for 2 years now, this is the first time I have actually experienced for myself a professional ear-cartilage piercing, let alone a dermal punch in my OWN skin! I'm currently a piercing apprentice at DeLuxe Custom Tattoos and Body Piercings in North Bay, ON. One thing we like to do when its slow at the shop, once all the cleaning has been done and the customers have been served, is to talk about the tattoos / piercings / mods we would like to have done ourselves or would like to do ... read more
