My tongue piercing at the age of 14

When I was a little girl my mom would take me to the mall to get my hair cut and whenever we went there we had to pass one of 'those' stores; the ones with rainbow colored hair dye, obscene shirts, and body jewelry. I remember one time we were walking past and I saw, what at the time I thought was, the oddest thing. There was a poster and on that poster was a scary girl sticking out her tongue....on her tongue was a big silver ball. I was horrified; why would anyone want to do that to themselves? ... read more

My 3x Helix (And Its Sorrows)

This is a tale of ears. Or, rather, just the right one. Boring, melodramatic back story (before we get to the blood and physical pain): I knew for about a year I was going to get either 3 helix piercings or an industrial before I actually got pierced. I loved the aesthetics of both, (still do) but couldn’t decide and didn’t want both at the same time. I didn’t know when I was going to go under the needle, but by golly, I was going to someday. Fast forward: In December, the guy I had been seeing broke it off ... read more

Second Time Around

Two years ago, after much thought, I went to a piercing and tattoo studio in my college town and got my nipples pierced. I guess I wanted to surprise people who see me as a very conservative person. I loved these piercings but they never seemed to heal so I retired them after about nine months. However, I had enjoyed them, shocked some friends, and missed them when they were gone. I spent New Years at a hotel party complete with dancing and other festivities. At the end of the evening, I sat in the lobby with a friend from ... read more

My Lovely Little Hip Microdermals

The first time I had seen hip piercings was when I was 13. Needless to say, I immediately fell in love with the piercing, but had strict parents, so even asking for them was completely out of the question. So I settled on admiring them, and after about a year, I stopped thinking about them for the most part. However, five years later, my little obsession had resurfaced. By the time I was 17, I’d had my bellybutton pierced and my lobes stretched to 1/2”, and at 18, I’d found myself dying for another piercing. My boyfriend, who surprisingly liked ... read more

Belly button piercing

Okay, so I admit it! I am what you call a "goody two shoes." I get good grades, I study a lot, I'm respectful to my parents and peers -- and I even clean my room everyday. But more than anything, I wanted a bellybutton ring. "Cute," my mother called it. "Not for you!" is what my father called it, and "cool!" is what my friends call it. Getting your navel pierced isn't the same as getting your ears pierced, where you walk into an accessories shop at the mall and have a teen-ager pierce a hole through your body. ... read more

My Most Missed Piercing

Sadly this story doesn't have an ideal ending. My navel piercing rejected not only once, but twice. I literally cried the first time I had to take it out permanently. I didn't think I would try to pierce it again but I couldn't live without it. Once again, it refused to heal properly and I had to remove it forever... well, until I try a third time in a few months. Anyway, this is my story. So I wake up one morning, check out the photo gallery on BMEzine and think to myself, "Oh man, I NEED another piercing". Yeah, ... read more

Painless Anti-tragus

Two days ago I went to get my anti-tragus pierced for my 18th birthday. I had been waiting to get this piercing for about two years, and had to wait until I turned 18 because my parents won’t sign for it. Other than the anti-tragus, I have 10 ear piercings- 3 pairs of lobes, 1 extra lobe on the right ear, and 3 cartilage on the left ear. I self-pierced everything other than two of the lobe pairs which were done at Claire’s when I was younger and unknowledgeable of their evil piercing gun ways. Thanks to Claire’s I have ... read more

Clavicle Surface Piercings

I've been itching for another piercing since my last in December. I knew exactly what I wanted done- surface piercings below my collarbones. The problem was getting the timing just right. Having had surface piercings before, I know they don't last long. I knew I had to wait until Summer so that I could actually show them off, and minimise the need for clothing that would rub against them. Looking through my old diaries (they're very embarassing!) I found out that my first "real" piercing was 15th July 2005. What better way to celebrate my five year anniversary than getting ... read more

getting into piercing at 35

OK so this is the story of how I got my tongue pierced at 35. I've always lived a very main stream conventional life, thinking that the only reason I was on this planet was to do what I was supposed to do and make everyone around me happy even if that meant that very early on I had to give up having my own personality or just being myself. I guess I was raised to be that way, or maybe I have an overly developed sense of responsibility that made me become that way. It took me many years ... read more

$80 to put in, $80 to take out

This is the story of my two lovely chest microdermals, from their birth to shortly before their death. It was one of those days where you just get an itch for yet another piercing. Even though I had waiting at least the healing time between piercings, my navel had only been done for a couple weeks and was crooked despite two attempts, but the second was straighter than the first. The only reason this matters is because the piercer, Jason, who had done my navel was having a sale on his services to generate revenue to move to a new ... read more
