Nape piercing part 2

Ever since I starting visiting my local shop and browsing through the artist's portfolios, I've been in love the look of surface piercings on the nape of the neck. So after considering this modification for awhile, I pulled the trigger while visiting home in 2006. I remember being really nervous during all of my piercer's prep-work, and it being my most painfull piercings ever. But it healed so perfectly and it was so perfectly centered that it was for sure my favorite modification. I never had a problem with my jobs having problems since I was able to hide it ... read more

Piercings For Life

About seven months ago I decided it was time for a piercing.. a real piercing. I've loved tattoos/piercings since I was a little kid. My earlobes have been pierced since I was 6-ish and I had my cartilage pierced for about a year until it got infected. Since then I've had three tattoos done- a dragonfly (my first and favorite), music notes behind my ear, and an unfinished half sleeve. My original inspiration for tattoos and piercings came from my older cousin. She had several piercings and they all looked very beautiful. The one that first caught my eye though ... read more

Tragus FAIL

I've always wanted a tragus piercing ever since I first saw my cousin sporting one. It was a unique, but still classy. I just HAD to have one. When I was sixteen, I finally got my wish. My best friend and I were scouting places for her to get a new tattoo (she was eighteen). She finally found a place that she liked. It had an illustrious mural on the outside of famous painters and musicians, and it had some of their quotes. There was a giant clothing shop filled with cute shirts and bikinis. I figured I could check ... read more

The First Pick (An Industrial Affair)

It was a sunny day at the start of June of 2008, and I'd just turned 16. This was the day I'd decided I was going to get my first piercing in a studio. With cash in one hand, and a friend in the other I headed down to my local shop; Esoterik Body Art. I sat down in the waiting room, and glanced at the price list, but I knew I was going in for an Industrial. I felt it was tame enough for a first 'different' piercing, as it was an ear piercing, but it was a unique ... read more

Tongue Piercing

I had decided I wanted to add to my growing collections of piercings but didn't want to travel to glasgow again so I went to this place in our town in greenock which I had heard great things about. The place was pierce 'n' place also known as ula's. I was more nervous about this piercing than any previous ones as I had read all the online horror stories. When i arrived at the studio I had a short wait before I was taken into the back. I immediatly noticed how sterile the room was... always the first thing I ... read more

my septum project.

I've wanted a facial piercing for over 3 years now, not knowing which one i wanted to get. Initially i wanted snakebites, then my nostril, then back to snakebites. Until eventually i decided i wanted my septum pierced. I thought "Hey, it's simple, practical, and all around awesome." I've researched the piercing for months. How it was done, the tools used, how to know if your piercer is qualified. I watched many videos of it being done. In almost all the videos, the piercer used clamps. But i also found out that an alternative to the painful clamps were receiving ... read more

Avatar Made Me Do It

I've got a theory that watching films in which body mods are displayed encourages me to get them. One of the reasons that 300 is one of my favourite films is because of the piercings that Xerxes, his subjects and his harem prominently display throughout the movie. Anyway, in February 2010 when I was 19, I went to see Avatar with my friend and her flatmate. Although Avatar isn't my favourite film, it is the best film I've seen. Afterwards I was waiting for the bus and had half an hour to wait so I wandered along the street and ... read more

The Taurus & Her Bull Ring

This septum piercing wasn't exactly planned. I woke up that day, knowing I wanted a piercing. I decided on a tongue web. I drove down to TRX, told Stan that what I wanted and he smiled and asked, "Who's gonna do it for you?" to which I replied, "You?" No, Stan does not do tongue webs... Sad Face. My usual piercer and the only piercer I had let come near me with a needle, Courtney, until that day was in Las Vegas for the APP Conference. So, I sat there, cycling through which piercing I was going to get instead. ... read more

Not What I Expected In A Bridge

So this is the story of my bridge piercing. It starts in January of 2010. I had just gotten my first piercings [nips] and started my journey with the needle. I became infatuated with piercing, soaking up any information I could, and spending LOTS of time on BME. In January I had my nipples done and soon after my vertical philtrum and inversed vertical labret. I knew what the next step was in completing my facial project: The Bridge. Well, after about 2 & 1/2 months, a best friend, Rachel, surprised us all with a visit. She had been gone ... read more

Septum piercing (not actually that painful!)

Well, I have been a huge fan of septum piercings for a few years now, but had read quite a few horror stories on them and how much they 'kill'. I think I finally decided to just go for it after I had both my nipples pierced, as that wasn't as bad as I previously had thought it would be. Each time before I get any piercing done, I spend a while (at least a week) decided if it’s what I really want and the types of jewellry available for the certain piercing. I look in the galleries here on ... read more
