Rook to Daith Industrial

I've wanted a rook piercing for a while, and had been considering a daith. So why not combine the two? That would be pretty interesting. I called Colorbomb Tattoo (formerly Lynnwood Tattoo), where I have been pierced multiple times, and asked if they could do that and how much it might cost, knowing that it probably wasn't something that's done very often. I had to go in for a "consultation" to see if it would be able to be done in my ear (and so they could come up with a price). I thought that was pretty professional of them. ... read more

Putting a Hole in my Neck.

Just after Christmas in 2007, I decided I wanted a new body piercing. I had been thinking about it for awhile, and decided that I wanted a nape piercing, which is a piercing in the back of your neck for those of you unfamiliar with the term 'nape.' I called in and asked some questions, then headed on down to Richmond St. with a friend and we waited. The foyer of the store was very clean, and organized. The staff were very friendly and courteous. There were several photo albums full of pictures of tattoos and piercings that they had ... read more

Piercings should be done for the right reasons and not just done on a whim

Ever since I was a little kid, I always knew that I wanted to get piercings and tattoos. I always wanted them not because is was the cool thing to do or anything like that. I personally believe that if anybody gets body piercings or tattoos because that's the cool thing to do now a days is really dumb. I always knew that I was going to get them because I've always loved them. I loved everything about tattoos and body piercings. I'll never forget the first time I ever saw someone that had a piercing. I was ten years ... read more

Nape Piercing - What a shock!!

I had wanted my nape pierced for ages, at first I never thought it would be something I would get done, just something that I would always look at and like on other people. I must have been looking at pictures and reading stories myself for about 18 months before I actually decided I wanted it done. I have never actually planned my piercings, I want most things pierced and I usually just randomly get them done one by one. When I was in town one Saturday afternoon I just decided 'What the hell!' and marched off to Stephs Piercing ... read more

My New 14 Gauge Microdermal

On Monday, the first day of Spring, I decided to go and visit my old piercer Belinda at her new location in the city... However, much to my disappointment she wasn't there. I was just looking to drop in, have a chat and see how she was, but my trip to the piercing studio later entailed more than that, which is always a good thing. I met Robin, who is the other piercer who works with my friend Belinda at Off Ya Tree on Oxford Street in Sydney. Robin and I were talking for a little while about the advantages ... read more

My microdermals, my favourite mod so far!

For several years I'd liked the look of surface bars, I liked the fact you could adorn almost any part of your body with metal. However, after a lot of reading into it I discovered the high rate of rejection and the ugly scars that were usually left behind. Unsatisfied with this discovery, I decided that although pretty, a surface bar was not the modification for me. Recently though, I read about microdermals here on BME and the old craving returned. It seemed that they were almost an alternative to surface bars but could have more success. As they were ... read more

My lovely microdermal wrist piercing

A few months ago I went with my friend as she got her nose pierced. While I was waiting for her procedure, I took a gander at the books of piercings that the studio had to offer. I was immediately intrigued by the single point piercing. I had only dreamed of such a thing! I always wanted a body modification, but I felt the need for something new and original. In the past I thought about having pocketing done on my wrist, but thought it would get pulled out by clothing or something. This new microdermal would have only one ... read more

Treated like a ROCKSTAR while getting a Dermal Anchor

It's funny. I am unbelievably socially anxious, yet I often find myself on one of the most bustling streets in Providence: Thayer Street. Now, I enjoy the tea on that street, but I can put the kettle on at home. What usually turns out to be the main purpose of braving panic attacks in this part of the city is Rockstar Body Piercing. This proves true for the 22nd of August, 2008. I had been talking/writing about how I thought dermal anchoring sounded like a really awesome idea for quite some time. At around 8pm on said evening, my boyfriend ... read more

Microdermal experience four times over.

I decided to get two microdermals done after a long year of thinking about it. At first I wanted to get a surface piercing on my wrists and I researched it and read testimonials only to quickly realize that any kind of surface piercing on my wrists would be a bad idea. I live a fairly active life and can't count the number of times I've accidentally bumped my arms into other things. I also work with small children so anything within their reach would have also been a bad idea considering they liked to touch first and ask questions ... read more

The short life of a dermal anchor (NSFW)

It has actually been a little more than a year since I have had my dermal anchor in place but none the less, this is my story. I went to the shop I frequent one evening to set an appointment to get my arm tattooed when low and behold my friend (the piercer at the shop) had received some dermal anchors and a little instruction booklet in the mail recently and was looking for a friend to use as his first client. I eventually agreed to let him try this procedure on me knowing that I probably wouldn't keep it ... read more
