I had never planned to have my nipples pierced. The idea of a needle going through the base of my nipple really freaked me out! When I was a young girl I was sexually assaulted by a man. I was 6 years old. It is something so traumatic that it still haunts me to this day. Well, my story is probably not very different than other straight men who step in to a piercing studio and decide to get their nipples pierced at forty plus years of age. I was really quite nervous about getting my nipples pierced, not about the pain, just about getting my boobs out infront of some randomer. Ok so lets start from the first time I got my nipples pierced. It was 6 years ago when I lived in Missouri, I then had a friend whom was a piercer do them for me. Everything went great I hardly felt any pain when I got the piercing done. But 6 months later I got pregnant my boobs swelled up super fast and it must have caused some issues with the piercings because they started to bleed, so I took them out. I feel I ought to point out before I go into the details of this experience that I cannot and do not encourage the practice of self-piercing. What has worked for me may well not work for others and professional piercers can advise and carry out procedures that we can't do ourselves. I am a relatively reserved person in a 'professional job' which requires me to conform a certain way. Ok I decided to pierce my nipples. But the thought of having someone else handle my "personal stuff" just did not thrill me to bits.
