The liberating feeling of a navel piercing

Anyone who knows me even the slightest bit can tell you this fact: Tiffany vowed to get a piercing on her eighteenth birthday. Ask anyone, even my unsupportive parents. I'd been researching for years prior to the day, which happened to be July 12th. I wrote down notes on the healing process and what to look for in a clean shop. Hell, I even set up a little notebook designed to monitor my healing wound. When the time came to lift my shirt for my nipple piercing, I blushed. To my surprise, it wasn't the nipple I didn't want to ... read more

Navel for my birthday...

So, at the time I decide to get a navel piercing, I have 2 sets of lobe piercings, 1 tragus and 1 conch. I'd lusted after the piercing since I was young. It took a while to convince my parents, but on the morning of my birthday I was handed an envelope full of notes, enough for the piercing and a tad extra! My parents have never really been pro-piercing, but they respect it means alot to me. I was surprised when they said yes, at first my dad would have rather I'd of got a tattoo rather than my ... read more

My Story

My workmate/friend announced at work one day that she was going to get her navel pierced. We discussed it at length, and I could feel her excitement grow, along with the nervous and itchy feeling you get when you plan to do something secretive as it was for her(her parents didn't and still don't know, three years later). Little did I know that this very idea was now planted and was quietly sleeping in my brain. I never really thought about again, but like I said, the idea was sleeping in my brain and waiting for me to clue in. ... read more

My Navel piercing experience!

I had begged my mom and dad since I was 13 that I wanted my navel pierced. They said NO, who would see it anyways? I continued my begging until I was 17. One day when I was with some friends and my mom at the mall, i pointed out a belly button ring and told my mom," Now wouldn't that be cute?" She agreed and I asked her if she would finally agree to let me get it pierced, when she said yes I was in shock and begged her to take me right then. My mom didn't want ... read more

My Inverse Navel - The First Piercing I've EVER Taken Out

I miss it. I really do. My inverse navel was my baby, and it didn't even live to see bikini season! Though I confess it was my vanity that made me take it out, I still really loved that piercing. I decided to get it on a whim. On day during history I turned to my friend and asked her if she'd walk me to the Native after class. I was bored and had just spent the past hour and a half thinking about what I could get pierced, so I was really itching for something new, something fresh. I ... read more

My first ever body piercing...

I'd always been a podgy child, so when I decided late last summer to finally shift the excess weight, I decided that when I got near my target weight I would finally have a navel piercing. I've always liked them and thought they were the most beautiful and feminine piercing. So after losing four stones in weight, I began to look into the possibility of getting my navel pierced. I'm no stranger to ear piercing, having my lobes done twice and a cartilage piercing in the top of my right ear, but body piercing was a whole new animal. So ... read more

Long Saga with Navel

I have just gotten my naval pierced for the 4th and hopefully final time. The previous two times were done improperly and/or my aftercare procedures were not correct. The first time I got it done was at the Gauntlet in San Francisco about 11 years ago. Great place, very professional, friendly, clean and careful. The Gauntlet had a great reputation and most of my friends got pierced there, so I felt confident to go there to get it done. The piercing itself did not hurt, didn't feel a thing. Just felt the clamp and then he told me it was ... read more

inverse=love

First semester in college I started dating this guy with a LOT of piercings (by my former definition, anyway). He had his tongue, septum, snake bites, stretched lobes & daiths in each ear, and one dermal punch in his cartilage when I met him. At some point, the metal just started taking over my thoughts. I had wanted my lip pieced for like three years. But the agreement with the padre was that as long as he was paying for all aspects of life, tattoos & piercings were STILL forbidden... (He'd never really been happy about the three holes in ... read more

I'm number one! - My inverse navel

There's some back story to this one; I had wanted something else since the VCH a couple of years back. I wanted something that would be easy to hide if required, but that was a little more socially acceptable to show off than the VCH itself. Hah. I decided that somewhere around the navel was by best bet, and the other half suggested that an inverse might suit me. Inverse eh? That sounds a little more "out there" than the trillions of fourteen year olds that had a standard one done a couple of years back. Not that I'm particularly ... read more

Horizontal Sub-navel

Yesterday I had my first ever surface piercing done. Aside from that I've got two lobe piercings, one helix, my nostril, and navel. So, I didn't really have any idea what I was in for pain wise. The first time I ventured to Surfers Paradise (which is crammed with piercing and tattoo studios) I had no luck finding someone prepared to do a surface piercing. They either didn't have the equipment, the experience, a piercer in on that day, or had a problem with my age (I'm fourteen). I went again the next weekend and at Off Ya Tree I ... read more
