Vertical Labret Issues

So for as long as I have remembered I've always been attracted to surface piercings. My first initial goal was to get my eyebrow pierced, which I did, at the age of 16. Eyebrow piercings are one of the highest rejecting facial piercings and that is exactly what happened with mine. After trying to pierce it again at the age of 17 and it still rejecting I decided to move on with a different body mod. After turning 18 this past March I was hell bent on getting my vertical labret done. A vertical labret is a piercing that is ... read more

The Amazingly Easy Scrumper Self-Piercing

So not too long ago, maybe almost a month, I was sitting in my basement with my boyfriend and thought "Hey! I need another piercing!" I had problems thinking of what I should do, because I already have Angel Bites, Snake Bites, Horizontal Eyebrow, Bellybutton, Tongue, and many in my ears. After I thought for awhile, I figured I would pierce my Scrumper. I initially wanted to do my tongue webbing, but the angle my tongue is pierced, I couldn't. And then, I figured I would do my dimples, but I didn't have the right jewellery, and I didn't want ... read more

Snakebite piercing.

Early Tuesday morning around 3am, I was talking to my friend, and I decided to go get my snakebites done in the morning, I had wanted them done for ages, but just never did, so I thought, I might as well go have them over with. So I waited up and didn't bother to go to sleep. I started to get nervous already, even though I had my labret pierced already which I did myself, which didn't hurt at all, it didn't even swell up which I was surprised about, but went against doing it myself again, as I bled ... read more

Philtrum/Medusa

For the last year or so, I've been really interested in body mods. I have stretched my ears and had my lip pierced. It's weird, because for me, I tend to develop an attraction toward piercings that I generally hated before. I never liked the look of stretched ears until a year ago, and until a few months before, I wasn't too fond of the idea of a philtrum, or as it's commonly known, a Medusa. A few weeks before I got it, i remember seeing this gorgeous girl who had her upper lip pierced. With a little help from ... read more

My first piercing ... didn't know what I was asking for

23 April 2008 I had seen quite a few pictures of my friend on Facebook with the many piercings she used to have. Naturally, after having been bitten by the "piercing bug" the month before when I got my ears pierced (with a gun), the idea of a facial piercing intrigued me. Following my slightly obsessive habits, I spent the month and a half between getting my ears pierced and the 23rd of April making Google find every bit of piercing information available. I read up on tongue piercings, lip piercings, eyebrow piercings, and even an industrial ear piercing. What ... read more

My first non-ear piercing!

I have always been fascinated with the body modification culture ever since I can remember, particularily piercings. I had admired those covered in their own personal expression for years. Always wishing that someday I would adorn such modifications myself. As I grew older my love for body modification grew, and before I knew it, I had devoted all my free time and effort into informing myself of various different modifications. I think it's safe to say that I LIVE for this. By the age of 10, I had already gotten many ear piercings, but due to strict religious parents, no ... read more

My DIY centre labret piercing!

First of all, I'd like to say that this happened six days ago, not a week ago. But close enough. Hehe. Second of all, I'd like to stress that while I performed the procedure myself, I had done several months' worth of research, and ordered in all the correct equipment. I do not condone people jabbing random safety pins through their face in a serious attempt at self-piercing, even though I did something similar with this. I have been known to act stupidly. Right, now, on to the experience. I'd decided that I wanted a new piercing about three weeks ... read more

my 16g vertical labret - an almost disasterous experience

I got my vertical labret done today. I'm very happy with it but, mind you, today could easily have turned into the stuff that piercing horror stories are made of. I got to the place a little early and went in. They weren't busy but the place smelt like cigarette smoke and they had a little child running around, pulling the laminated tattoo displays off of the walls. The place looked a little dirty and immediately made me uneasy. The guy that got the signs to form didn't know what a vertical labret was and my appointment was only written ... read more

Lip Piercing

I made the final decision to get my lip pierced after my sister in law showed me hers. Now, I had always wanted to pierce my lip, but never could because at the time, I lived with my parents and had promised them that I wouldn't get anymore while I was still living under their roof (though I've gotten most of my lower body piercings and my tongue done at that time.) There was the small problem with my job not allowing facial piercings while working with customers. The thing is, my sister in law was the LAST person I ... read more

Great Labret Experience in Madison, WI

Over the past month I've done a lot of research online/on BME about labrets and looked at tons of photos. Do I want a lowbret? A lip ring? Off to one side or in the middle? Lip rings are not something I like. Being in my 30s, I think that is definitely more of a younger person's thing. I was looking for something I would keep for a long while, like my tongue ring. I liked the idea of it being right under my lip but with how full my lips are and where my teeth are behind the lip, ... read more
