I live right by (about two blocks away) my favorite tattoo and piercing shop. So Wednesday I walked over to Immortal Ink in Flemington, NJ for a new mod. I decided to get my septum pierced. I have my nostril pierced twice already and it was about as benign as an earlobe piercing, super easy healing. I didn't have those piercings done at Immortal, but that meant I was about due, right? ;) In any event, I knew this would be a bit more painful. My eyes didn't actually tear up with the nostril piercings but with the septum? Most ...

've only reasonably recently begun to get into body modification and it's tending to be quite addictive. My first mod was a self done lip piercing (dumb I know but I was well informed and there were no complications with healing or placement). That was followed up with another on the other side, then ears, and now septum. Although I am relatively new to body modification I have plans for numerous other piercing/tattoo and possibly scarification projects in the future. Although I am young, I believe that I have the intelligence and foresight to make decisions about further modifying my ...

I had wanted my septum pierced for about a year. I finally told my parents I had wanted it. They asked me if I had researched it and everything and I did. I had looked it up for a long time. I told my parents all about it. Like it could be hid, it wasn't that painful, and that it's easy to take care of. They said yes I could get it and they would even pay for it. They said it would be my Valentines day present from them. I thanked them a million times. I told them the ...

I have wanted my septum pierced for about 6 months but have admired it for about 7 years. I used to work in a pharmacy, around a lot of sick people so I decided not to force my body to heal a piercing if I might get ill. A while ago I quit that job to start my own small business and decided I had to finally get my septum pierced. That was 4 days ago now. I went to Urban Piercings in Reading as I had spoken to Adam and Lian via email to ask a few questions about ...

I had my septum pierced about three years ago at a shop in the San Fernando Valley in California. I was unfamiliar with any shops in the area so I called around for quotes. They ranged from $15 to $60 for a septum piercing, no jewelry included. I know that the $60 shops won't necessarily be any better than the the one that quoted $15 but rather than price, I went more toward a referral. It's common body modification advice to walk into a shop, get a feel for it, and if it feels wrong find another. I was referred ...

I think that I had better start by setting the scene...I was just 18 and I had wanted my nose pierced since I was 14 but respected my parents wishes to be 18 first. It was the summer holidays and I decided it was time. I knew of a tattoo parlour on the high street that is always busy and looked very clean (and hygiene certificates on show). I went in and asked if they did a drop in service for piercings. As they did I paid up. The parlour is very small and was full at the time so ...

I had my tongue pierced in November '09 and just a couple of months later, I wanted another piercing! I went to Dare 2 Wear in Amsterdam. One of the piercers there, Sam, did my tongue and I was quite happy with it. By the way, if you search for tongue splitting on Youtube, you will see a great video of her getting her's done! I liked the idea of a semi-hidden piercing. I had never considered the septum before because I did not like the "bull ring" look. Even a retainer looked strange to me. I guess that this ...

I had wanted my Septum pierced for years, but was always too afraid to as I kept being told it hurt really really badly. This year I finally worked up the courage to go to the piercer and get it done, I sat down while the piercer asked me questions about why I wanted my septum, to which I replied, 'Um I like them ?' To which he pretty much said pfft and stuck his nose up at the thought. I thought this guy was a dick, so anyway he cleaned my nose and felt around up there and said ...

Back in the early days of January, 2010, an idea started forming in my head. Fresh from having seen James Cameron's new box office colossus, Avatar, I had an itch in my nose. An itch for a Nasallang. I won't deny the connection. Seeing the Chief of the Plains tribe with his epic nose piercing, I found myself craving just such a distinction. Perhaps exacerbating the situation, was the fact that I have a penchant for disabusing people of their preconceived notations. Being that I was also finishing my bachelors degree in Physics, what better way, I thought, to demonstrate ...

About a week before my holidays I decided to get my septum piercing done. I had wanted it for a long time and this seemed like a good opportunity since I could let it heal without anyone at work being able to notice it. I tend to look at such things with doom and gloom so normally tend to come up with a reason why not to do it and this at least gave me peace of mind since I could pretend I wasn’t really going forward with it. Then Feb. 1st came and I was dubious as hell. I ...
