Second Nostril Piercing or "See, It's Not That Bad!"

I suppose I should start this off by explaining why I've opted to write about a nostril piercing today instead of one of the more harrowing and interesting ones I've had done. I guess the best reason is probably just because as I had it done yesterday, it's easily the freshest experience in my mind. The other thing I feel deserves some explanation is that after a reasonably thorough search of the site, nobody's said anything about Dan at Stigmata and I feel the guy deserves some (virtual) ink. Now that that's out of the way – on with the ... read more

My septum piercing

My Septum! I'd wanted my septum done for a while after I'd got my first piercing, and I'd heard stories that it was one of the most painful facial piercing you can get. Well I'd already had a smilie, and both nostrils and my nostrils had hurt a LOT, so I figured what the hell, it can't hurt much more than that! I psyched myself up and went into my local piercing studio and asked if I could get it done. The receptionist (and piercer) said that she wouldn't be able to do it because she'd never done one before, ... read more

My Nose Story

I just got out of a very serious two year relationship. When things in my life change, I have to take control. This usually occurs in the form of cutting/dying my hair, but this time I just didn't think that would be sufficient enough to cure the anxiety in my life. My best friend has the cutest nose stud, and I decided that a nose ring would look great on me. So, in passing I mentioned it to my dad, "What do you think about nose rings?" He replied, "I think you are beautiful the way you are, but you ... read more

My Dirty Little Secret.

By nature, humans strive to do what they feel is necessary, or in some cases, what they feel is right. I am a frequent viewer of BME, and of piercings in general. I aspire to be a piercer when I grow up, and I have a overly-decent amount of knowledge for nearly 50+ piercings. I am on BMEZine.com every single day, investing countless hours browsing photos and experiences when I should be indulging in the wonders of trigonometry or biomed. With that said, I hope you realize by now that I am a piercing-fanatic. Past: Let's rewind two years, give ... read more

First facial piercing, low pain tolerance!

I had never considered myself a body mod kind of person; in fact, I didn't get my ears pierced until I was 15 out of an unholy fear of the pain (since I have ridiculously low tolerance and sensitive skin). However, as my approaching 18th birthday became a reality, I began to think I might like to try a facial piercing. After thinking it through, I chose a standard nose piercing--after all, I reasoned, if it sucked, I could just take it out. They seemed pretty timeless and not too trendy, so if I decided I liked it, I could ... read more

Best piercing EVER =]

Since I've come to university, every year I've got to get a new piercing. Its tradition. For my birthday last year, I was gifted a Monroe piercings (which will be a story for another day) and so this year I was considering either a tattoo or getting my septum pierced. A week or so before my birthday I woke up with an intense want to get a piercing. I spent all afternoon looking and obsessing about what one I wanted to get. Septum piercings I had always wanted, but I feel that not a lot of people can pull it ... read more

tears of joy

I would like start out by saying that Emanuelle is a fantastic body piercer and is now working in Hull Ontario. I don't know why I decided to pierce my nose, I had never really been attracted to it before, and it bothered me that it was becoming so popular, but I felt like piercing my face. Now, oral piercings have always concerned me what with tooth chipping and gum receding. Eyebrow piercings, were never really my thing. I was seriously considering my septum, but with my current job that would just not fly. I decided to pierce my nostril ... read more

3rd time... wasn't the charm.

When I was 17, nostril piercings intrigued me. Every night, I'd sit and browse pictures on BME and wondered if it would look good on me. 2 days later, I found myself sitting in a piercing chair with a needle sticking though my face. Surprisingly, it didn't hurt. Just made my eyes water, which is normal. Without thinking and being high on adrenaline, I chose a cbr to be placed through my right nostril. Getting it in was a bit tricky, but soon enough, I had a purple ring through my nose. First thought was "oh dear God, what the ... read more

Sisterly Septums

In March 2007 my younger sister was hit by a truck while crossing her street at a zebra crossing. She suffered major injuries, including a broken and dislocated spine, major internal bleeding, two breaks in her pelvis, broken wrist and ankle and a broken nose. Her nose naturally was the least of anyone's worries, even more so after she became seriously ill with pneumonia. Now there's a time limit on resetting a broken nose, two to three weeks and then it becomes impossible. At two weeks and six days, my sister was with it enough to go down and try ... read more

Skeletons Out Of Wardrobes, or A Story Of A Nose Stud

My first impressions of being absolutely fascinated and speechless with a sight of a pierced human flesh date back to my very early age. Further on it gradually developed in something like a mania: each time I saw someone having more than one pair of regular earrings it just sent shivers down my spine. Particularly assuming the fact that I was born and passed my first 7 years in the Soviet Union where piercings were a norm only for women in a quantity of one hole per ear. All the rest was considered either a barbaric heritage or a pernicious ... read more
