Guys, I'm Getting A Septum

Today is the 24th of June and my 17th birthday. Today, I got a pain in the nose and became a pain in the ass. I'm not a noobie when it comes to piercings but I'm not a veteran either, so you can imagine my excitement/fright that I had when I declared to my friends that I wanted a septum piercing. I've had an interest for a long time mind you but it was more a thought of "How could you...WOULDN'T THAT HURT?!" and I figured that it looked kind of badass too. So this week came and I was ... read more

FINALLY; my septum.

I've been into body modification seriously for the last 6 years or so. But most people wouldn't guess that by just looking at me, given that up until recently, I had only the standard lobe piercings. Lack of funds and being on a seemingly endless job-hunt have been the biggest roadblocks on my path to modded bliss. Getting my septum pierced was already something I had planned on, but I only recently decided to go through with it. It seemed like the most viable option for my current situation, since I need something I could hide when going to turn ... read more

Hypertrophic Hell

I decided one day that I must be cursed. This is because my mind and heart adore body modifications, piercings especially, yet my body seems to detest them!! My first piercing was my navel, even before my earlobes. This was in February 2007. It was a well done piercings and I had no issues with. Earlobes followed in March. Then in June I decided on a nose piercing, a plain, simple stud through my left nostril. The process was slightly painful but well done again and for about a month everything was just great, it looked awesome, seemed to be ... read more

my septum project.

I've wanted a facial piercing for over 3 years now, not knowing which one i wanted to get. Initially i wanted snakebites, then my nostril, then back to snakebites. Until eventually i decided i wanted my septum pierced. I thought "Hey, it's simple, practical, and all around awesome." I've researched the piercing for months. How it was done, the tools used, how to know if your piercer is qualified. I watched many videos of it being done. In almost all the videos, the piercer used clamps. But i also found out that an alternative to the painful clamps were receiving ... read more

The Taurus & Her Bull Ring

This septum piercing wasn't exactly planned. I woke up that day, knowing I wanted a piercing. I decided on a tongue web. I drove down to TRX, told Stan that what I wanted and he smiled and asked, "Who's gonna do it for you?" to which I replied, "You?" No, Stan does not do tongue webs... Sad Face. My usual piercer and the only piercer I had let come near me with a needle, Courtney, until that day was in Las Vegas for the APP Conference. So, I sat there, cycling through which piercing I was going to get instead. ... read more

Septum piercing (not actually that painful!)

Well, I have been a huge fan of septum piercings for a few years now, but had read quite a few horror stories on them and how much they 'kill'. I think I finally decided to just go for it after I had both my nipples pierced, as that wasn't as bad as I previously had thought it would be. Each time before I get any piercing done, I spend a while (at least a week) decided if it’s what I really want and the types of jewellry available for the certain piercing. I look in the galleries here on ... read more

Second-Go Septum Stretching

Six months ago, I got my septum pierced for the second time. I had a very clear goal: I wanted it to be large enough to wear several tiny 16g rings in one hole. I thought 10g would be a nice goal, large enough for two rings, and figured my very experienced piercer would be able to do that easily. However, I was only able to have it pierced at 14g. For reasons discussed in that story, (link), I could not get it pierced larger than that, and would be forced to stretch. I was very, very tentative about stretching, ... read more

My Septum

I'd wanted my septum pierced for four years, but had never gotten the courage to get it done. This was, in part, due to thinking it wouldn't suit me, but also not having the confidence to ignore that doubt and do it anyway. Recently I've had a steady boost in confidence due to seeing a counsellor and getting my life in order - and I decided what better way to celebrate my new found confidence and comfort in myself than by getting a piercing I'd wanted for ages? I visited a shop near my uni that several of my friends ... read more

Polymorph Body Piercing, Australia -- Septum

A while back, either in bodymods.livejournal.com or stretched.livejournal.com, someone linked an amazing septum plug. I saw it, & I had to have it. Previously I'd never been interested in a septum piercing, but I suddenly fell in love with the idea of a plug that allowed me to see through my own nose. Last week I received an email from Polymorph advertising a special for this weekend -- all piercings $10, although jewellery must be purchased at Polymorph on the day. This morning I made the 60-ish km trip up to Enmore from Campbelltown. I got to Polymorph at around ... read more

Old School Nose Rings

I've been fascinated with piercing since I was 14 years old, and I love all 8 that I now have (I'll be 16 in a few months). My mother was very afraid of the piercing process at first, having never been pierced by anything but a piercing gun as a small child in her doctor's office, and even though she had five of her own, she wasn't convinced. I tried to reassure her through my research and talking to people that it wasn't bad at all, and was rather painless for most people, and before I knew it she was ... read more
