My second go round of getting my nose pierced

My first nose piercing didn't go so well. I am prone to keloids and of course, that's exactly what happened and I got so frustrated that I just took it out. I did everything I thought I could do and it felt as if it was never going to go away!! I felt as if getting piercings was a lost cause for me because I lost a beloved industrial to keloids as well and I almost gave up hope. But about a month ago, I got the urge for a piercing. piercings are so addictive! I loved the way the ... read more

Close your eyes, you won't want to see this...

I'd been wanting my nose pierced for about two years. I think the reason I first wanted it was while going through an emo phase at twelve, I had a clip-on nose/lip/belly/ear ring and put it in my left nostril. I loved it from the start and that was when I was bitten by the bug. I'd only had my ears pierced once before when I was six, and I couldn't remember what that was like, but I know it hurt. Alot. Stupidly, as I was only little, I didn't know the dangers of gun piercing, and they got badly ... read more

Spontaneous septum at Pangea

Until recently, I had never really considered the idea of getting a septum piercing. I had always found nose piercings in general to be a little cliché. The whole party girl with a nose stud look never really appealed to me. However, over the past few months, I had been itching for a new piercing. I already have my lip, bellybutton, tragus, and a number of other ear piercings, and I felt that I needed something a little different. It was because of this searching for something new that first brought the idea of a septum piercing to mind. Over ... read more

My Nose Piercing

I've wanted my nose pierced for a couple of months. Unfortunately, all my friends from school want it done too, and due to it being against the school rules to have a facial piercing, they are all planning to get it done at schoolies when we graduate at the end of the year. So I decided to get it done now to avoid looking like I was following the crowd. My parents haven't always been keen on the idea, but I had gotten my lip pierced in January this year and last month, July, I took it out because I ... read more

at home nose piercing woohoo!

Alright so last night I asked my mom if I could get my nose pierced and she said no because she doesn't like them. Then we got talking (on IM, I was in my room, she was in the kitchen on her laptop) and I was like okay if I can't get my nose pierced I want my second holes done in my ears. She's like well if you want to do that you can just do that at home. And I was like, okay well why don't I just pierce my nose while I'm at it. She didn't necessarily ... read more

So worth it!

I have wanted my nose pierced for a really long time but my mom and dad wouldn't let me until I was 18. I think they just thought I would eventually grow out of that "phase" and not want it anymore. Well it was not a "phase" and I did not grow out of it. I am a freshman in college and didn't want to get my nose pierced while I was at school. I also wanted to go somewhere closer to home. So about 2 weeks after my 18th birthday, I came home for the weekend. I had researched ... read more

My first piercing!

I had wanted too get my septum pierced for a long while before I finally went and got it done. I would say don't try it your self just don't do it. I tried DIY once and it did not work out for me so I decided after that I would just get it professionally done. So one night while I was at home bored I called a local studio and asked the man who answered the phone how much it would cost me too get my septum done. He said it would cost me fifty dollars. At the time ... read more

A nose stud, the dreaded bump and a happy ending

I have wanted my nose pierced since I was 9 years old, and my parents have always said that I could have it done when I was 16. I had a few non major piercings before hand, an industrial which got infected and was taken out 3months later, normal ear lobe piercings, stretched to 6mm and 8mm (now taken out) and a cartilage piercing on my left ear, which got pulled out on a rollercoaster (it hurt). As it turned out, I was in China for my birthday, and there was no chance of me being allowed to have my ... read more

Self-Pierce Nostril

When I'm about to do my own piercing I always come to BME to check out the war stories or success stories. I figured it's time to post my own experiences for other people to learn from. My background in the world of body modification is 10 piercings in various places, but you're reading this to learn about piercing your own nose so I won't elaborate. My nostril was my 10th piercing. Of my previous 9, 5 were self-done. Seeing as it is cheaper and more comfortable if you do it right and well, I once again opted to do ... read more

My DIY experience

I decided to do my septum on the spur of the moment when a friend offered to. I'd realized how pretty they looked after seeing it on another friend, and the idea of being able to flip it up really appealed to me. I also liked it because it was a bit more unusual. My nose is also quite straight and small, so I thought it would be nice on me. I don't think I'd get anymore piercings after my septum though (I already have my Monroe pierced) I admire people who can pull off lots of facial piercings though! ... read more
