Repiercing love!

My obsession with piercings started ever since I got my first ear piercing eight years ago! I only have my ears done, three on each and a cartilage on my right (which was done with a gun and I regret it!). Anyways, so after my cartilage I told my mom that it would be the last for me wanting piercings. Well about six months later I started looking into nose piercings. Now my mom is pretty difficult to convince, so I kind of would question her about any facial piercings I could get if she would let me get any. ... read more

My Unplanned Septum Piercing

My best friend Natasha and I gradually became addicted to piercings (who hasn't?). It started (as most of them do) with some non- lobe ear piercings, and then our navels and her nose. We graduated to more adventurous nipple piercings, but my most recent trip was something different; something on my face, visible to the world, and can't be hidden by clothing. I had wanted some kind of facial piercing for a long time, mostly a lip ring or a labret. I always thought septum piercings looked lovely too... although i didn't intend on getting one, I still asked the ... read more

First piercing--nostril!

I live in Los Angeles, CA and since the age of 12 I've always wanted a nostril piercing. My parents are very conservative people and they were very resistant to the idea and would not agree to take me to a legitimate piercing stand. So I took the bus downtown with my best friend, and went to a swap meet where many of my underage friends had been pierced, all with good results. Several people at my high school have gotten either snakebites or single labrets, and everyone assured me the place, although devoid of any kind of liscense, was ... read more

Feeling the sting.

The septum piercing was one of those piercing that intrigued me, from encyclopaedias to Documentaries of people from far out lands fuelling my curiosity. It was also a piercing my family cannot abide, but it was defiantly on my list. They'd understand in time to come. After fore filling all the other piercing I had wished to experience it was time to get my septum pierced. It was a cold winters day, me and my flatmate decided to go grocery shopping and I'd been contemplating my septum piercing for awhile, so we decided to make the one trip into bedminster ... read more

So worth it!

I have wanted my nose pierced for a really long time but my mom and dad wouldn't let me until I was 18. I think they just thought I would eventually grow out of that "phase" and not want it anymore. Well it was not a "phase" and I did not grow out of it. I am a freshman in college and didn't want to get my nose pierced while I was at school. I also wanted to go somewhere closer to home. So about 2 weeks after my 18th birthday, I came home for the weekend. I had researched ... read more

My first piercing!

I had wanted too get my septum pierced for a long while before I finally went and got it done. I would say don't try it your self just don't do it. I tried DIY once and it did not work out for me so I decided after that I would just get it professionally done. So one night while I was at home bored I called a local studio and asked the man who answered the phone how much it would cost me too get my septum done. He said it would cost me fifty dollars. At the time ... read more

A nose stud, the dreaded bump and a happy ending

I have wanted my nose pierced since I was 9 years old, and my parents have always said that I could have it done when I was 16. I had a few non major piercings before hand, an industrial which got infected and was taken out 3months later, normal ear lobe piercings, stretched to 6mm and 8mm (now taken out) and a cartilage piercing on my left ear, which got pulled out on a rollercoaster (it hurt). As it turned out, I was in China for my birthday, and there was no chance of me being allowed to have my ... read more

Self-Pierce Nostril

When I'm about to do my own piercing I always come to BME to check out the war stories or success stories. I figured it's time to post my own experiences for other people to learn from. My background in the world of body modification is 10 piercings in various places, but you're reading this to learn about piercing your own nose so I won't elaborate. My nostril was my 10th piercing. Of my previous 9, 5 were self-done. Seeing as it is cheaper and more comfortable if you do it right and well, I once again opted to do ... read more

My DIY experience

I decided to do my septum on the spur of the moment when a friend offered to. I'd realized how pretty they looked after seeing it on another friend, and the idea of being able to flip it up really appealed to me. I also liked it because it was a bit more unusual. My nose is also quite straight and small, so I thought it would be nice on me. I don't think I'd get anymore piercings after my septum though (I already have my Monroe pierced) I admire people who can pull off lots of facial piercings though! ... read more

Always something there to remind me...

I have a confession to make: nostril piercings and myself? Probably not the best combination. The first time I had it done, it was with a gun...at a hair dressers...when I was 11...and by a girl who looked to be on substances that are considered illegal in Australia (I swear, I wasn't trying to break every body piercing "rule". I was uneducated!). That got ripped out a day later, on a towel. I shoved it back in, cried a bit, and loved it until it fell out in my sleep a few months later. The second time? One of my ... read more
