Spur of the moment septum

Yet again I found myself getting a piercing I never dreamed I would get. Almost always when I had seen a septum piercing it was on someone with large jewelry and frankly didn’t look appealing to me at all.  Over time I started seeing discreet septum piercings with retainers and other small jewelry.  Suddenly septum piercings didn’t look so bad. My story begins when I was out of town for a few weeks on business.  I found myself walking around a city in Australia with a few hours to spare.  There were many things I could have done but I ... read more

The nose knows!

Well I had my nostril pierced once before, the piercing itself went great...everything after did not. To make a long story very short so we can get to the good stuff I got a huge bulge of hypertrophic scar tissue...nasty business and no amount of soaking, cleaning, dabbing, LITHA did anything to help so bye bye nostril piercing. Fast forward a year and I decided to get my nostril pierced again only this time on the right hand side. I was visiting with my mom close to Christmas and she (as awesome as she is) gave me the cash to ... read more

to get a septum

My septum piercing came as a bit of a surprise, even for myself. It just acts as further proof of how one changes in the course of a few years. Basically, my piercer and friend John Wayne had suggested that I look into getting my septum done shortly after I met him, and I had found the idea rather uninspiring. At that stage I was focusing on my ear projects and was not interested in getting any other piercings at all. However, three years later the same friend announced he and his fiancé; were moving far away, and this was ... read more

Scary septum...not so scary

I've always been wary about septum piercings, right from when I was about sixteen and read somewhere that it was incredibly painful. I had both nostrils pierced in my teens and they were both so bad, I assumed that the septum would be off the scale in terms of pain! To be honest, this has left me with a bit of a fascination for other people's septum piercings. I frequently embarrass myself every time I meet anybody with one, going, 'Oo did it hurt?' Fast forward a few years, and I was feeling braver.   It's coming up to the ... read more

nostril piercing

Firstly, let me say  that my parents are dead against piercings and tattoos. They're a bit more relaxed about piercings, as at least you can take those out, tattoos however are with you for life pretty much. I have many piercings, but nothing really on my face, so whilest my parents aren't fond of them, at least they're hidden. But I figured, I've moved out, gone to a different city and living with my partner, why not get a piercing I've wanted for ages? It took a few days, but eventually I worked up the courage to go and get ... read more

Septum, because I felt like it!

Well! I've just got back from a jaunt into town to get my septum pierced. As I'm sure a lot of you have done, I woke up this morning thinking that today, I fancy something new. I've been thinking about getting my conch done, but as my scaffold is only a year old and still gets angry sometimes, I think Ill wait to get that done once I have at least one side to sleep on! I hadn't had anything pierced for two years - I've got various already including tongue, navel, bites, vertical nipples, scaffold, 22mm lobes - and ... read more

Pre-Studio Experiences (The Wretched DIY Approach)

The first piercings I ever got were, you guessed it, my lobes. I was sixteen when I got my earlobes pierced. I know, that's older than most people when they get their lobes done. My mom made me wait, but I'm happy she did. I remember being so excited to finally experience that thrill of getting jewelry stabbed through my flesh! No lie! I couldn't wait to get my ears pierced. Seems kinda lame now, because everyone gets their lobes done, but I already knew that those ear piercings were gonna be my ticket into a whole new world of ... read more

My Double Nose Piercing (DragonBites)

I have been in love with body modifications since I was at the tender crossroads of teenage-dome. 12 years old and crazy to have who knows what screwed into my face! But never in those 4 years of waiting had I assumed that the first "real piercing" I'd have would be on the most hated part of my face; my nose! Like most other people, I had my lobes pierced at an age where I couldn't even count, so my first remembered experience of having a piece of metal inserted into my flesh was at 14 years old. I had ... read more

A simple nostril means so much

Well, first I'm a guy LOL. That's a bit odd for some of the people in my circle given what I'm about to tell you. I wanted my first piercing (not counting gunned lobes - twice - and cartilage from Claire's). I'm 26 and had been wanting my belly button (navel) since I was 18, and I was in California. And the weather was awful. What else does one do when they can't party on the beach? Get their first piercing! Adding to the desire, I live in a tiny town where the shops are all dirty or just rude. ... read more

First Nostril Piercing Experience

I started my long (albeit slow-moving) journey into body modification at 17 when I got my first tattoo. At that time, I only had pierced lobes (gunned from when I was a child, much to my dismay as I suspect the placement might be weird now) and no other piercings. After my tattoo, I started considering the idea of getting a nostril piercing. Fast forward nearly ten years later, and I'm sitting in a chair with my piercer and a lubed up needle aimed at my nose. My heart is pounding. The needle is scaring the shit out of me. ... read more
