ef = "/cgi-bin/vote/votec.cgi?/pierce/01-ear/990415/rook.html"> I had been dating a guy that hated piercings, and out of respect, I did not get any piercings during the 9 months we were dating. He never asked me to take mine out, but he would have freaked if I got any others. Recently, we broke up due to his immaturity, and I decided *why not* get that cartilage piercing that I had wanted... I was deciding between a normal upper cart, or a rook, and decided on the rook, since I've only seen a few people with it. After getting my paycheck the day before, ...

ef = "/cgi-bin/vote/votec.cgi?/pierce/01-ear/990415/tragus.html"> Background I had had the top of my ear pierced back in the early 80's, before it was so passé, and I was tired of looking at something that I had, on the ear of every kid in this town who thought it was cool. I looked through the BME pages for something different, yet not too extreme, and I found it. I found out that that little goofy flap next to your earhole had a name (tragus), and that it could be pierced. This looked different, and exiting. So I started looking around, trying to see ...

ef = "/cgi-bin/vote/votec.cgi?/pierce/01-ear/990415/badcart.html"> I would like to start by saying that this was in NO way the piercer's fault. He did a wonderful job given what happened. I'm apprenticing under him at the moment, and he's one of the best I've seen. He did everything he was supposed to do, and stayed very calm. I just hope I can do the same when on the other end of the needle. It was my first day of appreticing (I won't name the store, so they won't lose buisness over this... IT WASN'T THEIR FAULT). The day started slow, and I had ...

ef = "/cgi-bin/vote/votec.cgi?/pierce/01-ear/990401/elly.html"> New Zealand Tragus Piercing I had wanted to get my tragus pierced for *ages*, like three years or so. And just over two weeks ago (Friday October 9, 1998), I had the perfect opportunity. I was in Hamilton (a city close to the small town where I live), and I'd just been ten-pin bowling with my then-boyfriend. On the way to ten-pin, I noticed a piercing place... so while I was at bowling I was thinking about it. On the way back into the city, we got the taxi driver (who smelled of curry, lol) to drop ...

ef = "/cgi-bin/vote/votec.cgi?/pierce/01-ear/990401/earexp.html"> I had been working this shitty job at a credit union for a few months when they fired me the day before Xmas. I was furious! I had taken out my tongue bar, labret piercing, and nose ring for this job. The day after Xmas, still bummed out from getting fired, I decided to treat myself to some ear piercings. I had always been fascinated by cartilage piercings and decided that was what I was going to do. I wanted to go to the shop I always go to for piercings, but they were closed. I called ...

have pretty much been interested in body modification since probably about the time I saw a tattoo on someone, when I was about 4 years old, I was just facinated with it, after doing the usual thing when I was younger, you all know, I had my ear pierced when I was about 8 or 9. Then I went on and had my lip done, eyebrows, tongue, ect. Then I was just getting bored with it. When I was about 14 my friend David had his ear's stretched to about 1/2 inch or so, not quite for sure, but he ...

y ears are one of my favorite body parts. I like them a lot. So they day came when I decided I wanted something besides lobe and traditional cartilage piercings. I contemplated my ear for a while and finally decided on a favorite ridge, which (unbeknownst to me) was called the anti-tragus. Armed with a really good idea of what I wanted done, even though I had no actual name, I hopped in the car and sped toward my friendly neighborhood piercer, Chris at Earth's Edge in Winston-Salem, NC. They were still at their old location then, so I climbed ...

>My helix and futher thoughts on body mods I have been interested in body piercing since the very early 80s, when my then lover (ok, Master) did a self frenum. We knew absolutely nothing, as no there were no professional studios available to us. Amazingly, it came out ok -- I guess his ring material choice/gauge was correct. I'm hoping he still has this! Not long after, with a slightly more experienced friend, he attempted a horizontal hood piercing on me. Didn't work -- we were trying to numb the area with lidocaine -- which does not work on me. ...

nter> The Disasterous Daith experience On January 14th, I had an appointment to get my daith pierced. Since this is my 5th piercing done at Primal art, I am well familiar with the whole procedure and junk. I walked in with my mom, signed the release forms, and after a 15 minute wait, Eric, my piercer, called me in. We argued for a little bit, because he was going to do the daith with a 16ga ring, and I wanted 14ga, just because 16 looks too thin, to me. He said that it was going to make the piercing a ...

Ok, here goes my sad (and stupid) tale. I'm not blaming my piercer for these events, but neither will I claim full responsibility for this cartilige fiasco. I'm a big Phish fan, and I'd noticed ear projects (multiple ear cartilage piercings usually joined by a single bar or ring) on other fans before. I love artistic looking piercings, original ones that were designed individualy. Anyway, my left ear has always stuck out while my right one lies flat, so I thought that getting an ear project that looked really cute and pinned back my ear at the same time would ...
