I have always liked ears and the variety of piercings that people get in them. So, it was no surprise when the tragus caught my eye. Two of my friends have their tragii pierced and a girl that just transferred from our school posted pictures of her fresh tragus adorned with the cutest heart shaped stud. I decided that I wanted my tragus pierced too and started to do my research. I even put together a PowerPoint to ask my mom, who told me years ago after my second lobe piercings "no more ear piercings". I pulled out all the ...

Well first of all I know it's not a common piercing, so I feel I should explain what a UFO piercing is. Basically it's just an orbital that goes through the rook and forward helix. Here's a link to a picture of it from bmewiki: http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/UFO_Piercing Anyway I hadn't planned on getting a piercing that day. I was hanging out with a good friend of mine and we ended up at one of our favorite piercings shops, she was going to get her ears stretched. Well after I decided to show the piercer a photo of a piercing I was ...

Even though I only have 4 piercings now, over the last 15 years i have actually gotten pierced ... 17 times. I am a bit surprised now that I had to think back and do a count - it's a lot of times considering I only have 3 visible rings. They are in my upper cartilage. Some of them were repiercings and some of them are retired or I really only got them to experience getting them and the liberating feeling of doing something family, society but mostly my own inhibition had held me back from doing. Anyway, I want ...

I decided to get my rook pierced the summer before my freshman year of college. This wasn't my first piercing by any means, but I liked the idea of a more "unusual" ear piercing, and it was during the summer, and I was with friends. I went to the Liberty Tattoo Co. (in Winston-Salem, NC), which was fine, but I wouldn't exactly recommend it. (Do yourself a favor and drive the 2 hours to Raleigh and go to Progress Piercing). It's a tattoo place, obviously, and they don't have a lot of jewelry, plus I found it to be dim, ...

Like many other young pre-teen girls, I had my ears pierced at some random store in a local mall (it wasn’t even a Claire’s, it was one of those kiosks in the middle of the hallway in the mall that did ear piercings) with the dreaded piercing gun. My parents and I just didn’t know better at the time. I had begged for my ears to be pierced for years, and I eventually had to quit playing soccer to get them done (which was fine because I was terrible at soccer anyway and I hated it). The trouble with them ...

My right ear has been very bare compared to my left, for a a very long time and it had been getting on my nerves since it was pointed out to me so a few months back I asked friend and professional piercer Tomm at Pulse if he could think of anything interesting to do, he nodded and said he'd give a think and let me know if and when he thought of something weird and wonderful – especially as pain isn't a big deal to me and I tend to be able to heal really awkward piercings easily (with ...

I was looking around BME and noticed that while there are a bunch of stories about people's snug experiences, they were all about professional piercings. Mine is a DIY job, so I was thinking, whoa.... am I the only one who has done this myself? And even if I'm not, I'm still the first person writing about it :) I have 10 DIY piercings (a couple of lobes that I have since stretched, a few helixes, a tragus, a tongue web, and a septum) and I love them all. Piercing myself is something that other people never seem to get, ...

I have craved a cartilage piercing of some sort ever since I was 12 - when I saw an older teenager with one. She wore it like a crown, the shine drawing the eye down the graceful curve of her ear. This was absolutely, non negotiably out of the question for my conservative family. Piercings were for those...other people. So, I bided my time, with frequent discussions with my Mum to see if her mind had spontaneously changed, and finally, 10 years later when it was still a firm, absolute no, took the plunge. I did a bit of research, ...

This is a tale of ears. Or, rather, just the right one. Boring, melodramatic back story (before we get to the blood and physical pain): I knew for about a year I was going to get either 3 helix piercings or an industrial before I actually got pierced. I loved the aesthetics of both, (still do) but couldn’t decide and didn’t want both at the same time. I didn’t know when I was going to go under the needle, but by golly, I was going to someday. Fast forward: In December, the guy I had been seeing broke it off ...

Two days ago I went to get my anti-tragus pierced for my 18th birthday. I had been waiting to get this piercing for about two years, and had to wait until I turned 18 because my parents won’t sign for it. Other than the anti-tragus, I have 10 ear piercings- 3 pairs of lobes, 1 extra lobe on the right ear, and 3 cartilage on the left ear. I self-pierced everything other than two of the lobe pairs which were done at Claire’s when I was younger and unknowledgeable of their evil piercing gun ways. Thanks to Claire’s I have ...
