Ear Stretching Journey

My stretching journey started when I was 10 years old, one day while playing in the local park I saw the owner of the local piercing shop and was mesmerized by his 2" ears, it was then that i new what i wanted. The next day i went down to "cosmetics plus" with my brother and purchased five 14g CBR's, and since i didn't know anything about stretching i assumed that i would be able to stretch just by putting many small gauge rings into the same hole. After about a month i had managed to get them all in ... read more

Vertical Industrial Explosion!!

Firstly I should point out that (despite the title) my industrial piercing did not explode, it just looked like it had! My 28 year old friend finally decided that after 10 years of wanting it she was going to get her tongue pierced. I went with her having been through the experience and tried to calm her nerves. She was so nervous that the only thing I could do was get a piercing myself (shame...not!) to prove it was nothing! After a few moments contemplation I decided to go for a vertical industrial through my helix & conch. So I ... read more

Finally got an industrial.

For a little over a year, I have been wanting an industrial piercing. I was afraid that I would not be able to get one since I have small ears. I have read online some ears are not suited for Industrial piercing cause they are too small, some parts of the ear sticks out or whatever. BUT after a year of wanting one I got up the money, and courage, to get one. I went to a place called Lucky Draw Tattoos. My friend had recently gotten a tattoo from them, so I thought it was a good place to ... read more

My Ear Stretching Journey

When I was 16, I began to develop a liking for body modification. I would see people on the street with tattoos, piercings, and giant earlobe holes, and I just knew that I had to be a part of this movement. Stretching piercings is a gutsy move. I was nervous, but my boyfriend was supportive, and he was always encouraging me. I had a good friend in highschool who was into stretching. She told me that there were such things called 'claws' and 'tapers'. She also told me of a hole-in-the-wall dollar store that sold random body jewelry and stretching ... read more

Tragus FAIL

I've always wanted a tragus piercing ever since I first saw my cousin sporting one. It was a unique, but still classy. I just HAD to have one. When I was sixteen, I finally got my wish. My best friend and I were scouting places for her to get a new tattoo (she was eighteen). She finally found a place that she liked. It had an illustrious mural on the outside of famous painters and musicians, and it had some of their quotes. There was a giant clothing shop filled with cute shirts and bikinis. I figured I could check ... read more

The First Pick (An Industrial Affair)

It was a sunny day at the start of June of 2008, and I'd just turned 16. This was the day I'd decided I was going to get my first piercing in a studio. With cash in one hand, and a friend in the other I headed down to my local shop; Esoterik Body Art. I sat down in the waiting room, and glanced at the price list, but I knew I was going in for an Industrial. I felt it was tame enough for a first 'different' piercing, as it was an ear piercing, but it was a unique ... read more

Avatar Made Me Do It

I've got a theory that watching films in which body mods are displayed encourages me to get them. One of the reasons that 300 is one of my favourite films is because of the piercings that Xerxes, his subjects and his harem prominently display throughout the movie. Anyway, in February 2010 when I was 19, I went to see Avatar with my friend and her flatmate. Although Avatar isn't my favourite film, it is the best film I've seen. Afterwards I was waiting for the bus and had half an hour to wait so I wandered along the street and ... read more

My first cartilage

Ever since I got my second holes in my ears, I had really wanted my cartilage done too. As cliched as this sounds, piercings (as I'm sure tattoos) are really addictive. The only thing stopping me from going ballistic with piercings is getting a professional job out of college :-( (it really sucks that people are still so freaking judgmental today). I'm usually very good with needles, but I had heard stories where people said it was painful and that some people's ears had swelled up after infections and it made me nervous. I researched all the possible things that ... read more

My Daith Piercing

I’ve had 2 sets of lobe piercings since I was 5 years old and decided in late 2009 to start stretching my first set of piercings. Due to my personal, preferred aesthetics, I decided to remove my second lobe piercings. As I have my right tragus pierced, I felt like I wanted to balance out my ear piercings by getting another one in my left ear. After looking online and just observing other people’s piercings while out and about, I settled on a daith. I loved the look of it and the fact that it’s recessed down in your ear. ... read more

DIY inner conch

Let me just start off by saying that you should not pierce yourself if you don't have to. A lot can go wrong and professionals really know what they're doing. That being said, do not go out and get pierced anywhere that uses guns. I have been horrified to see my friends with new piercings, only to find out that they got it done with a gun. Not just lobes, either. I'm talking tragus piercings and helix piercings. Don't do it! Guns are bad. Anyway, back to my conch. I've always wanted a big ring around my ear, so one ... read more
