An Industrial Experience

A few weeks ago, I started itching to get another piercing. I have my nostril pierced and 3 lobe piercings. I knew I didn't want another facial piercing and the ear seemed like the way to go, since there's so much variety in piercings to choose. After careful consideration, I chose an industrial. A friend of mine in high school had had one. It was noticeable enough to be unique, but not too out there. So began my researching period. I looked up everything that was involved in the process, aftercare, potential problems, etc. When I felt like I had ... read more

scaffold piercing.

Having heard so many horror stories about industrial/scaffold piercings, I was reluctant to get it done, even though I had my heart set on it. I researched the hell out of it, and found hundreds of people complaining that it was a notoriously painful piercing, and a notorious bleeder. Finally, two days ago (3/10/09) I finally plucked up the courage to get it done :) Picking a piercing studio was a no brainer for me; I went straight to Blue Banana in Coventry, as they had pierced me before. I was aware that Blue Banana was sometimes said to be ... read more

10G Lobe Piercings.

Like pretty much everyone else out there, I got my lobes gunned at the mall as a kid when I decided I wanted them pierced. The traumatic nature of the procedure combined with the horrible aftercare instructions and low-quality jewelry did not make my ears very happy; I had the piercings (and a second set later) for about five years and they never healed. They were constantly extremely irritated, which I didn't feel like dealing with, so I retired them. I stupidly tried to re-pierce them myself several times, but always ended up taking them out a day later because ... read more

The life death and rebirth of my industrial

I was sort of a late bloomer in terms of piercing among my friends, most of whom started getting pierced and quickly ruining their lobes in around 2005. After a bad breakup, at the beginning of my senior year in high school, I decided to get one of my lobes pierced. And the obsession began, I got my other lobe, started slowly stretching them, got a couple of other random cartilage piercings, and finally my industrial. I first decided to get my industrial pierced over 2 years ago, in the initial piercing craze I went through mentioned earlier. I first ... read more

So much I've learned in life

My journey starts with modifying about 2 years ago. At that time I was dealing with some heavy depression and was very impulsive. My friends mostly new me (being stereotypical) as the chill fellow who would just ride out his life. I hated the fact that this is how people saw me because I have, my entire life, tried to find a moment to break out of the mold that people had set around me. One of my coping methods at the time was to completely consume myself within a hobby or a lifestyle. Before this story takes place I ... read more

Snug as a Bug in a Rug

It had been a while since I had gotten a piercing. My last piercing was my nose piercing and that happened six years ago. I hadn't been thinking much about it until my friend, G., asked me to be moral support for a lip piercing. Which, you know, got me to thinking. I had been planning to get another tattoo as my next decoration, but the shop had all these samples of really neat places to get your ear pierced. G. herself had a rook that I thought was so beautiful and delicate. I was too chicken to get a ... read more

My Stretching Horror Story

This is my story on my lobe stretching process; it began about a year ago. Probably a little bit less, but you know. I had had my ears pierced for quite sometime; I had done them myself as I do with all my other stuff. But I'm good at it, and get legit needles to do it, and sterilize everything so don't be a stupid and go do it yourself, because chances are you aren't as adapt at it, as someone nearby in a Professional setting. But, I was browsing the internet and researching different piercings I could do when ... read more

my beautiful daith piercing!

About two months ago I decided that I really wanted another piercing. Many of my friends had been getting new piercings, one of my best friends getting her tongue and the other her belly. They had both tried to persuade me to come and get matching piercings with them but I knew I didn't want to get something that I wasn't going to be in love with. I have my ear lobes pierced, and an upper cartilage piercing as well as my nose and nipple, all of which I had waited a while until I knew I really wanted them ... read more

Looks like a mini cartilage burger!

A few years ago (6 years, to be precise), after weeks of consideration, I finally decided to muster up the courage to ask my piercer if he would dermal punch the cartilage of my left ear. I've had my fair share of piercings, however they have always been small gauge. The largest I had was my navel, which had been pierced at 10ga and which was very intense. I was enamored by the idea of having a large gauge conch piercing but didn't want to go through the stretching process in cartilage. A dermal punch was the option, but it ... read more

Ear Stretching in progress, currently at 1/2"

Hello, my name is Jeff, I go by Ka on BME. Awesome introduction, right? Well for starters, the topic of this experience is ear stretching, my ear stretching to be exact. I am writing this experience for a multitude of reasons; one being, I feel as though BME has provided me with so much in my path to becoming what I want to be, and I feel the need to return the favor to others seeking similar information. And second; I need more time for my account. I began my modification journey in seventh grade. I got my ears pierced ... read more
