Last year, I went through a really hard time in my life and in an uproar of stupid teenage rebellion I ran away from my problems, psychologically and physically. In the months following my tragus piercing, I noticed that it was much more widespread (movie stars, highschool students, the waiter at Applebee's) than when I'd originally got the idea in my head 2 or 3 years ago, and sought out something at least somewhat more unique. It’s hard for me to be away from my favorite piercing studio, Iris Piercing in Salt Lake City, and it is in fact a little dangerous for me. This is because if I go into the studio after not having had a piercing in awhile, I get an insatiable itch to get new piercings that doesn’t go away until I get them. I decided to get my rook pierced the summer before my freshman year of college. This wasn't my first piercing by any means, but I liked the idea of a more "unusual" ear piercing, and it was during the summer, and I was with friends. I went to the Liberty Tattoo Co. (in Winston-Salem, NC), which was fine, but I wouldn't exactly recommend it. (Do yourself a favor and drive the 2 hours to Raleigh and go to Progress Piercing).
