Finally got an industrial.

For a little over a year, I have been wanting an industrial piercing. I was afraid that I would not be able to get one since I have small ears. I have read online some ears are not suited for Industrial piercing cause they are too small, some parts of the ear sticks out or whatever. BUT after a year of wanting one I got up the money, and courage, to get one. I went to a place called Lucky Draw Tattoos. My friend had recently gotten a tattoo from them, so I thought it was a good place to ... read more

The First Pick (An Industrial Affair)

It was a sunny day at the start of June of 2008, and I'd just turned 16. This was the day I'd decided I was going to get my first piercing in a studio. With cash in one hand, and a friend in the other I headed down to my local shop; Esoterik Body Art. I sat down in the waiting room, and glanced at the price list, but I knew I was going in for an Industrial. I felt it was tame enough for a first 'different' piercing, as it was an ear piercing, but it was a unique ... read more

UFO orbital experience

Well first of all I know it's not a common piercing, so I feel I should explain what a UFO piercing is. Basically it's just an orbital that goes through the rook and forward helix. Here's a link to a picture of it from bmewiki: http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/UFO_Piercing Anyway I hadn't planned on getting a piercing that day. I was hanging out with a good friend of mine and we ended up at one of our favorite piercings shops, she was going to get her ears stretched. Well after I decided to show the piercer a photo of a piercing I was ... read more

The Luna - Partly Planned but Mostly Impulse

My right ear has been very bare compared to my left, for a a very long time and it had been getting on my nerves since it was pointed out to me so a few months back I asked friend and professional piercer Tomm at Pulse if he could think of anything interesting to do, he nodded and said he'd give a think and let me know if and when he thought of something weird and wonderful – especially as pain isn't a big deal to me and I tend to be able to heal really awkward piercings easily (with ... read more

Triple Helix Spiral

It all started here on BMEzine with a photo of a girl with triple helix spiral in her ear. I was fascinated by how it looked and I couldn't get it out of my mind.Since then I had been planning to get a triple helix spiral for about five months and had done a fair amount of research on local studios that did this piercing. I ended up with two studios in mind, Urban Piercing in Reading and Area 51 in Basingstoke. I had previously had my septum pierced at Urban Piercing and had a great experience there but I ... read more

Two Industrials? At the same time? You're crazy.

Two Industrials? At the same time? You ARE crazy. Piercing date: 22 Sept 2009 I decided a while ago (Chrismas time 08 ish) that I was going to get industrials done on both ears... at the same time. Everyone I talked to about my idea that did not have piercings thought I was crazy ("I thought that cartilage piercings hurt the most/ you are not going to get any sleep while they're healing/ why would you do that"). Anyone that had an industrial or multiple other piercings already said that it would take awhile to heal, but why not do ... read more

My Industrial, My First Piercing

I grew up in a pretty liberal home. My mother and I were very open, I never really had a curfew and I was allowed to get a tattoo at the age of 16 provided it wasn’t in a visible area. My mother had my ear lobes pierced when I was a few months old with a gun at one of those horrible little mall kiosks so I figured that I would be allowed to get a few more piercings with no objections. I was wrong. My mother seemed to think that tattoos were acceptable but piercings weirded her out. ... read more
