this is not a test...

I'm not one of those people who decides to poke holes in her body out of boredom, but this time...was simply one of those times. Fresh out of college for the summer, I decided to get a new body mod that had just as much attitude as I. That was when I had made the choice to get an industrial. I knew that it was very pleasing, aesthetically, in my eyes, but at the same time, a bitch to heal. I also knew the risks of piercing cartilage, especially two pieces of cartilage at once. I had done my research ... read more

My very nervous scaffold!!

Around the beginning of summer, I was standing with some friends in the social space of our school, chatting about piercing. I had been really wanting a piercing for a long time now. My parents aren't as bad as most. Well, my dad is pretty strict, but my mum is rather liberal. Unfortunately when it comes to piercings, she has her limits. I had been wanting snakebites for about 3 years, but, in typical parental fashion, both parents objected, giving me the whole 'while you live under my roof' lecture. Looks like I was out of luck until I was ... read more

My awkward industrial

I never saw the appeal about industrials when everyone around me started getting one - it looked bulky and crude to me, but when my right ear started to look far too empty with its  standard lobes, suddenly the idea started to spark my interest and with some massive browsing around, looking at industrial bars and photos of people with healed industrial projects I saw the beauty in it. How hipster of me. So I gave myself a few weeks to lose interest in the idea because that's how I roll - and when I didn't, I decided to order ... read more

Industrial and Tragus Piercings

This past summer, I spent a few weeks in England visiting a friend. I had decided before I left that I would get an industrial piercing to commemorate the experience. On our long drive far out into the English countryside from Heathrow Airport, I told her my plans and she was thrilled. In fact, she said that she had been interested in getting her tragus pierced. I had never considered that piercing before, but it wasn't long before I couldn't imagine NOT getting it pierced. Two days later, we headed into Banbury and went down a few wrong roads before ... read more

Orbital/Industrial

I had been thinking about my next piercing for almost a year. At that stage I had a conch-to-conch industrial in my left ear, a helix in my right and double lobes in each. I wanted something in my right ear to balance the industrial – something that matched, but was not exactly like what I already had because while I enjoy evenness I don’t really care about total symmetry. It took a long time to decide what I wanted because I liked so many ear piercings and wanted them all – rook, snug, daith; they were all so pretty ... read more

How I Made Anxiety My Bitch

Right. I'm 21 years old, and I've been into body mods in a big way since I was about 13. I have 3 lip piercings (14g circular barbells), my left ear has a 22mm stretched lobe with 2 standard 14g circular barbells in piercings above it, the other ear has a 14mm tunnel, a 10mm glass spiral and 2 14g circular barbells. I have 3 naval piercings and two inner labia piercings. I've retired various lip piercings, nose piercings and 3 different nipple piercings. I tend to play pierce a lot, I have a branding on my forearm and a ... read more

My Journey That Led Me To The Infamous Industrial Piercing

It all started when my friend sent me a picture of her new cartilage piercing. It was a cute little piercing with a CBR, and some sort of obsession started forming in my mind. I’ve always thought cartilage piercings were cute, but I wanted something a little edgy along with the cuteness. After looking through tons of image searches on Google, I decided an industrial piercing was right for me. The beginning of this obsession started on the brink of the Snowpocolapse 2011 in OK and having so much free time out of school leads to plenty of time to ... read more

My industrial piercing

In January, I turned 18. So, I decided to add another piercing to my "collection." Already having the standard first and second holes, and an upper and lower helix, I thought it was time to find a more unique piercing. I did some research and landed on the industrial piercing. I had heard that it could be a painful piercing, but I figured I could suck it up. I had planned on the industrial piercing to be a present to myself, but my mother insisted on paying for it :) I asked my friend Brittney to come with us and ... read more

My Industrial

I have been obsessed with piercings since I was fourteen. Now I am only seventeen; however, since being 14 I have acquired ten more piercings-four of which were retired. And on December 23, 2010 I got my left industrial and tragus pierced. I have wanted my industrial done for quite a long time and it was finally time to get it after having enough research done. So the day of I was extremely nervous like I usually am right before a piercing. We went pretty last minute too which insured that I wouldn't chicken out. I had to have my ... read more

Vertical Industrial Explosion!!

Firstly I should point out that (despite the title) my industrial piercing did not explode, it just looked like it had! My 28 year old friend finally decided that after 10 years of wanting it she was going to get her tongue pierced. I went with her having been through the experience and tried to calm her nerves. She was so nervous that the only thing I could do was get a piercing myself (shame...not!) to prove it was nothing! After a few moments contemplation I decided to go for a vertical industrial through my helix & conch. So I ... read more
