My 3x Helix (And Its Sorrows)

This is a tale of ears. Or, rather, just the right one. Boring, melodramatic back story (before we get to the blood and physical pain): I knew for about a year I was going to get either 3 helix piercings or an industrial before I actually got pierced. I loved the aesthetics of both, (still do) but couldn’t decide and didn’t want both at the same time. I didn’t know when I was going to go under the needle, but by golly, I was going to someday. Fast forward: In December, the guy I had been seeing broke it off ... read more

Two more ear piercings

For a few years now I had wanted more piercings going up my left ear. I already had 5 but I decided I want them going all the way up and round the top of my ear, but I just never got round to getting them done as I wanted a couple of other things done first. So finally I decided to get them done whilst I was back at home from university, at Adrenaline in Luton. Most of my friends had already gone back to uni so I didn’t have anyone to take with me, but I really wanted ... read more

My First "Pop"

This was awhile ago, but I’ll give it my best shot at remembering all the details. During the same appointment as my daith at Trendsetters (early February, 2007), I had also planned on getting an outer conch piercing. I’m pretty sure Trendsetters almost never uses captive bead rings for cartilage piercings (except for daiths, apparently), as when I explain what I wanted (a ring on the edge of my outer conch, not a helix though), they said “Alright, we’ll put in a curved barbell”. I understand that this lowers the amount of knocking around and such though and the curved ... read more

Finally, I got my inner conch

For about 5 or 6 years I had always wanted my nose pierced. I only had one hole in each ear, and they were done when I was a baby. I am terrible with shots at the doctor, so needless to say I was TERRIFIED at the idea of getting my nose pierced. I read stories on here and I knew people who had it done, so I knew it wasnt that bad. But piercings were an uncharted territory for me. I had no idea what to expect. One day my sister came home with a nape piercing, and my ... read more

A Needle and Thread DIY

Allow me to start by saying that I do strongly believe that you should see professionals for any type of body modification. DIY piercings can be done, and properly, but there a far greater number of risks. I consider myself very fortunate to have been without complication, but I wouldn’t pierce anything other than my ears by myself. Well, I had quit my job, and have no funds for, well, anything. I was seriously considering going to World Domination, which is the closest, cheapest place to go (they have a pretty bad rep, but its more for creepiness than uncleanliness; ... read more

Auricle Piercing That Won't Be the Last

Location: Wellington N., Sherbrooke, Quebec Artist: Charlie Date: April 23, 2010 I had been toying with the idea of piercing my left conch for nearly two years. I has an unexpected afternoon off from work at the theatre (I'm a technician at my university) and planned a trip to the mall to get some new shoes. I had a nice leisurely lunch at home. I lost track of time at one point and I realized that I was going to miss the next bus if I didn't hurry out the door. I ran to the bus stop to see the ... read more

Conch Stabbing

I had been craving a piercing for the longest time, it felt like forever since I had last been 'stabbed'. The only problem was, I wasn't sure what I wanted. With my limited funds and lack of enthusiasm for anything more on my face, (I already have three visible facial piercings and didn' t want to look cluttered or like a pin cushion.) I wasn't sure would I could get. Nipples were something that I had wanted for a long time, but those were too expensive for my poor student ass. I opted for something on the ear. I spent ... read more

My Conch : Favourite Piercing To Date

I'd been thinking for a while that I wanted a new piercing, and after having my lobes pierced twice on each side and then getting a helix at the top of one ear, I wanted something to fill the gap in the middle. My ear looked like it was missing something, and I felt that a new piercing was it! I had a look around on the internet and waited for the little granulation on my helix piercing to disappear before settling on getting a conch piercing. I'd seen someone with one and thought it looked cool, and merrily coerced ... read more
